There’s a bug in their algorithm. If you stop a ride and restart it much later, it includes the stopped time in the score. For example, in this ride, I rode to a restaurant, stopped Strava, then restarted it after dinner for the ride back. I only rode for 22 minutes but had a NatureDose of 125 minutes.

This shouldn’t need a hashtag, since the count can be calculated from the Strava API by counting the number of segments done during the ride (like the Arlington Loop or POGGIO Pointless Prizes). Also, a hashtag would mean that multiple loops on a single ride would only be counted once.

Pedestrian countdown timers can be useful for cyclists too. In addition to showing how much time you have to beat the red light, this particular one tells me when I can get ready to start crossing 16th Street. When it reaches 18, I start pedaling, knowing that at 16 this light will turn green.
