Though they look delicious, don’t eat holly berries! They contain the TOXIN Saponin, which is poisonous to humans (and dogs).
3/16/2024 – The Fort Myer Corporation Asphalt Plant alongside the Metropolitan Branch Trail regularly spews TOXINs into the air and across the trail. Their permit is up for renewal, and neighbors are pushing to limit the hours of operation so as to minimize the hazardous pollution during prime trail hours. #scavhunt – 3/16/2024 – Perchloroethylene (PERC), a potential human carcinogen, is the most commonly used dry cleaning solvent. Don’t know if Classic Cleaners in Birch & Broad use that TOXIN.

Extinction Rebellion DC has launched a campaign to stop Washington Gas — the only company in the city that pipes toxic methane gas into your home — from spending $5 billion on more gas infrastructure.
If Washington Gas gets its way, then DC will lock in planet-heating fossil fuel pollution for decades to come. Its methane pipes will continue to poison DC residents, exposing our children to a cocktail of toxins that cause severe illness and early death. Washington Gas is a direct danger to the safety of DC’s residents. The company is destroying our health and our children’s future — and the DC Government is letting them get away with it. #endmethane

3/16/24 – Toxin – The Clean Rivers Project is attempting to stop sewage runoff into the Anacostia River when it rains. Sewage contains toxins that can spread disease amongst other things. This colorful sign is adjacent to a sign warning those in the area to stay away from the river during or directly after rain due to the presence of toxins. Interestingly, Paris as the host of the summer Olympics has also tried to stop this same runoff issue with the Seine, as they would like the swimming competitions to be in the Siene this year.
