… involved stopping and helping a fellow Cyclist (with a capital “C” – we were both wearing Lycra) with a flat and coming upon these critters wandering from the banks of the Potomac to a puddle on the other side of the MVT.

If I could do a C, I would do Seagull. I LOVE that area. Getting a hotel room is a dog. But…. Chincoteague!!!!

A good alternative to a hotel/motel for the Sea Gull is to book a campsite at Assateague State Park.

Coming up the MVT connector, at the IoD I came upon what appeared to be an FCCII caravan this morning. Most turned onto Key Bridge and I fell in behind. Good morning all.

May they be as successful as the C&O Canal Trust has been. This could be good.

I am going down Friday after FCCII if anyone wants to join. Not sure if I will be able to get a tour – but in my previous life I was a scallywag.

Previous life? Whenabouts are you going to head out from FCCII? (translate: Do I need to get up early?)

I suppose you could find (or make) a decorative bag like these come with if you wanted.

the Garmin HRM strap was making me feel tense. I really didn’t like the tension on my chest. This feels like wearing a soft band watch.

and for freezing saddles, and the wetter days out there:
MaxxDry Boot, Shoe and Glove Dryer

The MaxxDry needs to go in the Lust thread.

I thought I’d try that new-fangled Cabi thingy today. I’m hooked. When I went to vote, I did discover there needs to be a station near Cora Kelly school. The corner of Commonwealth & East Glebe would probably draw lots of users from Auburn Village.

Sigh…Four blocks from home and the heavens opened up. I may as well have ridden the entire 8 miles in the rain. Note to self: ride faster.

And just to make sure there is no right answer to the lube question, I’ll throw in that I’ve used Boeshield T-9 ever since finding out about it on the CompuServe cycling forum 20 years ago. That boaters use this stuff shows it is good around water.

Boundary Channel is fine during both rush hours in either direction. Very little traffic and people tend to behave well on the Pentagon property in my experience.

This is my experience as well. Boundary Channel Drive is my snow route so I’ve ridden it often. There’s something about military discipline that is comforting while on a bike in traffic.

So who will be at Blues, Brews & Barks tomorrow to pick up their BTWW jersey? I’ve got a birthday dinner to prepare so will be there first thing at 5:00pm.
