ParticipantI am sooo disappointed. Stopped by the marina and all that was there were the signs. I do see it is not listed on the official pit stops map.

I got an awesome squeeze water bottle at the Plaza once. And AAA sometimes has a booth there – it’s fun to watch that unfold.
I registered for a Metro bike pass there once. Remember those?

Oh come on. Swing by Del Ray or Crystal City. They both are right on your way. I do hope you are getting better.

Thank you all for the support and coming out, definitely makes the early rise out of bed much easier to know that you all are enjoying the program. After this mornings event we are at 84 riders who have rode all week!
The plan is to give out the jerseys at the first Crystal City Blues & Brews event on Wednesday, June 3 from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM. We should have sizes for everyone in men’s and women’s cuts. We will do a random raffle of the riders who biked in 4 days for the remaining jerseys (which as of now is 16 jerseys for a possible 31 riders)
A big thank you from me as well. It was a great opportunity to meet some of the people on this forum (I was going to write “crazies”, but not everyone here is crazy) and get into Crystal City more than I would normally. LOTM & I spent some time talking to a CC resident who brought his bike down for the offered maintenance. It sounded like he will appreciate the efforts you are making to enhance Crystal City’s cycling environment.

ParticipantI was there around 7:15. The food was pretty good (warm muffin!) and the light, tire patch kit and lighted arm/leg band much appreciated.
To make a game of it, I’m going to see how many different routes I can take from the Water Park to Georgetown. Monday was boringly via the MVT, my usually route.

ParticipantI was counted twice by creadinger. Could have made it 3 times, but I thought that would be pushing it.

Regarding countdowns, If I think I can be safely across before it reaches zero, I go. I don’t know what the specific rule is, but I think its sort of crazy to only go on the walk, since thats such a short part of the cycle. Seriously, some of the intersections I cross, the walk signal barely lasts long enough for me to clip in and start moving.
I believe the rule is, if the countdown starts, don’t enter.

Including honeysuckle! I love the smell of honeysuckle in the morning. [cue the Wagner]

ParticipantTo the driver of the black Chevy dually pickup truck with ladders strapped in the bed, at Commonwealth & East Glebe: No, it is not OK to swing right into the bike lane to go around a left turning car. Especially when said lane is occupied.

ParticipantI have a Cabi station very very near work. I have a Cabi station a few blocks from my house. Because I’m such a slow-a** rider (and even slower on those Cabi monsters) I really need a station at Gravely Point/National Airport. Good news from NPS tweet.

ParticipantGreat! I’ll be able to go hiking during hunting season.

The other was on the MVT when the tandem recumbent decided to pass a runner and force me to brake and skirt the very edge of the MVT. They know they’re a wider bicycle by definition and that I have no where to bail out too (right before TR island heading northbound) so the expectation then is that I will slow down to accommodate? Not going to happen unless I really think it’s collision or nothing.
Is that the trike? Or, I guess quint would be more accurate. I’m surprised. They seem like an experienced tandem team. Usually very PAL-like.

ParticipantA chance to win a jersey? And free food. Heck yeah, I’ll be there every day around 7:10am. Look for the guy who keeps getting fatter as the week progresses.

Spring has brought not only daffodils, but also FFG sightings. Welcome back Dave.
