ParticipantHowdy all! Recently returned to town, looking over the options for tomorrow’s coffee club. On the calendar FCC I is at Swing’s, but this isn’t listed at the top of this discussion with the rest. Also. Is there an early club at Velo?

I wonder what the good people at Cottonelle consider a year’s supply of toilet paper. Would it be enough for me to build a fort out of toilet paper? If so, I hope I win it in June.
I won it a couple years ago. We’re still going through it.

In addition to the happy hour at Heavy Seas, there are also happy hours at Lyman’s Tavern (3720 14th St NW) and Piazza Beer Garden (7401 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda, MD).

Way to disenfranchise the downtowners. DCers: disenfranchised since 1790.

Ditto on this. I refuse to shop at the Ballston store because I had multiple experiences of being ignored or turned away when trying to buy a spare tube, minor bicycle stuff, and when I wanted to get my old beater bike repaired (I was told “We don’t repair old bikes here.”). I think they do an excellent job on the Tuesday night rides and am glad they host the Ballston pit stop for BTWD, but that’s the extent of my positive experience with the Ballston location. They should really advertise that they are a higher-end-only bicycle shop.
My experience with Ballstono has been similaro. but the nonofficious pit stop by the WFC store/on WOD was the bombitty this am.

This year’s shirt does seem like a step up from past years, cotton/poly blend rather than 100% cotton. Which addresses the one odd thing about the btwd shirts–I rarely wear them to actually bike because they get wet and stay wet.
I loved the cotton ones. they were just great comfy shirts. will have to actually wear this year’s while exercising.

anyone else have an issue with defaulting your rides to transportation vs recreation?
In Endomondo it goes to the last mode used. Funny thing is, when the options are transportation or sport. And when I ride for sport, it’s usually more like recreation. Must look funny that the sports rides are the slow ones…

Managed 10 pit stops (11 if you include the NPS at Roosevelt Island). Falls Church, all Arlington, Georgetown, Nat Geo and Freedom Plaza. Saw several forum members on my rounds.
Do we have a records?? 10 is impressive. I have no idea, until I start to count…. Vienna, (Conte/WFC), Little Falls, EFC, Ballston, Columbia Pike, Crystal City, Freedom Plaza. So, seven (1) official stops. I passed Farragut square, but it was already done, and I figured NatGeo probably was too.
Best coffee: Vienna
Best music: Ballston
Best cheer: Little Falls (yeah, that was me with the drama entry)
Best mechanic: Conte (ok, ok. i only needed 1 mechanic)
Best swag: Crystal City: bike jersey(!!)
Honorable mention swag: EFC: u-lock
Best food: Conte: cronut (<--new discovery!!)
Best shirt collection: Steve O (Ballston)
Location most needing bike infrastructure: Col.Pike
Most grateful for: every volunteer who made this possible!
Best beer: ?? let’s find out!cephas

ParticipantFunny you should suggest Ballston. I just planned the route. Approximately this: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/1081997084/ Now we’ll see how early I get up, and how far the reality varies from the plan.

Is it a bad thing if you bike to work Every Day and did not sign up for a T shirt?
I like this years shirt but I liked last years too.
Is it a bad thing if I signed up late? Will I still get a shirt?? My collection is looking for it’s #11. I figure if I can get 50 shirts in a row, I’ll win a prize, right?

I lost my water bottle – right in the middle of the intersection, and I was not inclined to go back there and retrieve it.
reminds me of the time my rear light popped off in the intersection of Constitution and 15th. I WAS inclined to go back to retrieve it. but I could only watch as it shattered into a million and three pieces when a car got there first.

You’re going to be in town?
There’s a fatal flaw in your plan – the afternoon pit stop at Arlington’s new brewery.
So you need to drop off all your water bottles, get back on your bike in the afternoon and get over there.
You could almost put the beer in the water bottles, but that is not recommended due to the decreased pleasure in beer from cheap plastic.
I can’t read the route, but it sounds good. I’m looking to make a record number of stops starting at the Vienna stop. (Challenge launched. Of course, ties are accepted, even if it is casual fri.)

ParticipantSlightly off topic, but is there any way to find my stats from last year’s NBC if I didn’t save them?
