ParticipantIt can be tough to get enough protein.
Fortunately I have become allergic to all forms of food so I can pretty much only eat meat & veggies & fruit. :p
(I am still deeply in denial about my dairy allergy so that I can have ice cream. And cheese.)

Sounds like you have morphed into a hobbit. I especially like the second breakfast after I get to work.
Second breakfast is the best. Next to elevensies

ParticipantEating 30% protein 40% carbs 30% fat?
Getting enough calories?
Recommended grams of protein daily = kg body weight x .8.
If you’re eating a lot of simple carbs and not enough protein & fat you will be hungry!KelOnWheels
ParticipantDirt, are you secretly working for these people? Is this a conspiracy to make me buy cycling clothes? Inquiring minds want to know!

ParticipantYep, I was looking forward to a nice tailwind on the way home yesterday and wound up battling a crosswind instead. No fair!

ParticipantThere was a crash at Commonwealth & Reed in Alexandria at about 6:30 PM. I passed by just after it happened. The cyclist was up and limping, car tried to take off but some pedestrians stopped it and waved down a police officer.

ParticipantIt was so nice on the way home I decided to go on the VeloCity Bicycle Co-op Ladies’ Night group ride! Sadly I did not decide to eat anything beforehand. Bonked big time on the way home. :p Oh well, live & learn! (Stupid hills.)

ParticipantIt was awesome!
Had a headwind up the MVT, almost got run over by a car barreling through the construction zone on Ohio Drive, and had to pass a pedestrian on the right who was standing in the middle of the Penn Ave cycletrack (not at a crosswalk, just in the middle of the road. you know, as you do.) who was impervious to bell ringing, but it was still awesome!
Oh, also I forgot my gloves and had to ride with my big Fredly sunglasses since my cycling sunglasses broke and I havent gotten new ones yet.
I am in a great mood!

Perfect morning if you were heading south/east on MVT. Imperfect if you were heading north/west, particularly with a bag. The temp was great, but the wind was killer. Plus only 2 called passes of 7 today.
Yeah, it got quite windy between the airport and the 14th St Bridge. I tried to make myself all aero. On the MTB. With the messenger bag.

ParticipantNew personal record today! (What an awesome morning!) 9.8 miles – one hour door to door.
OK, so it’s twice as long as it would take you guys, but it was really good for me! I rode a lot in my big chainring instead of the center one and felt quite speedy!
Of course I forgot to Strava it so I could be the queen of my commute
I’ll have to do that next time.

ParticipantNow you just need to change the name to VeloPops and put them in a carbon wrapper to save weight…

True.
Maybe that’s an Irish thing though.
(Now we get to find out whose Irish among us – flame away).
Oi!
Nah, that’s not an Irish thing at all. We’re snarky, sarcastic, and can hold a grudge like nobody’s business, but we usually start out friendly.
That right there was pure Internet Tough Guy. I diagnose an overexposure to bikeforums.net at a tender age.
