ParticipantI just need to say how nice it was to ride in this morning. The fact that I hit the Lynn Street crossing signals without needing to stop (which happens about twice a year) was also nice.

ParticipantYeah, I’m in a great mood today, due in large part to how nice the ride in was.

And I was part of a line of 15+ cyclists crossing at Lee & Lynn (I was the last one, since I barely caught the Fort Myer light). I think only 4 cars got to turn right on green. I love when that happens.*
*I know it’s not good for the greater society that that intersection functions so poorly, and when few drivers get to turn in a light cycle, other drivers get frustrated and do dumb things, like hit cyclists. Headline: we should fix that intersection. But while drivers are so dumb, I will take a little bit of pleasure from seeing them sit in their cars as I bike on by…

ParticipantI guess I was the only cursing the wind. Rode all weekend and so I was hoping for a breezeless day instead of the in-my-face breeze the whole way. But on the plus side, I will have the wind at my back en route home.

My viewpoint on it is, yeah many of them will curse cyclists and rue the day anyone turned a pedal. But maybe some of them will recognize that there’s a real issue there and start making noise to their board member or rep that something significant needs to be done.

ParticipantIt was awesome!
Had a headwind up the MVT, almost got run over by a car barreling through the construction zone on Ohio Drive, and had to pass a pedestrian on the right who was standing in the middle of the Penn Ave cycletrack (not at a crosswalk, just in the middle of the road. you know, as you do.) who was impervious to bell ringing, but it was still awesome!
Oh, also I forgot my gloves and had to ride with my big Fredly sunglasses since my cycling sunglasses broke and I havent gotten new ones yet.
I am in a great mood!

ParticipantI didn’t even mind the construction on Ohio Dr. I was able to get to the 14th St. bridge via Banneker Park and NPS.
I hope tomorrow will be almost as nice!

ParticipantWow, I was going to post just about the same thing: how incredibly awesome my ride in was. So great to see I wasn’t the only one enjoying it immensely
P. S. To be honest, it was a last minute decision to ride today.

ParticipantI actually found it to be a little chilly this morning on my ride. I guess all that heat acclimatization I’ve been doing is working!

The Tapatalk app is pretty good, huh? I just d/l’ed it the other day. Only wish you could “Like” posts directly from it.

ParticipantI’m bummed. Snapped my derailleur right off on Friday so bike in the shop. I missed a Top 10 day and was stuck in Metro with the mole people. Gloom.

Two words for you, Moose Mitts
It was a great day for riding however.

I wore wool socks, but I did skip the baselayer.

ParticipantI got away with a light jacket. Any warmer and I would’ve been a little too hot though. Pretty much did the entire 14 mile ride without sweating much at all, as opposed to last week when my gear was still damp with sweat even after hanging all day.
