ParticipantThat looks exceedingly fun. One day, when I get a more road-like bike, I want to turn my mountain bike back into a mountain bike and learn to do mountain bike type things on it.

ParticipantYou: King of all salmons, flying down the N Van Dorn hill in the middle of the oncoming traffic lanes.
Me: Hoping that hi-vis yellow shirt is body armor, you’re gonna need it.

ParticipantCongrats! Bring back some glaciers.

ParticipantThose trash bags (?) look handy for a nice soft crash landing when trying not to run into the Jersey barriers…

ParticipantI probably won’t get there until 6:45ish. I promise not to eat Dirt’s dinner this time

I take great exception to your comment sir. My bike is not 15 pounds, it’s more like 25 pounds. I work really hard to get that bike and myself up to speed and up hills. Haha.
Yeah! Maybe YOUR dainty little bicycle is only 15 pounds, I’m pushing 30-odd pounds of STEEL, baby!
Slowly. Very, very slowly.

I made the mistake of driving to Bailey’s Crossroads on Saturday. All traffic lights from I-395 to Carlyn Springs Raod were out. I was amazed at how many drivers refused to treat a dead traffic light as a four way stop. It’s no wonder that so many drivers are ignorant of bicyclists rights to the road.
I also tried that drive on Saturday (but REI was closed
) I was amazed I didn’t get rear-ended since I actually did stop at intersections.

ParticipantHow y’all doing?
I got power back at about 5 AM Sunday – lots of stuff is still out in my neighborhood and cell signal is really spotty. I finally found an open grocery store last night so I could replace some of the food I had to throw out. Haven’t ventured out on the bike yet.

I’m just glad my shifter broke this week and I’m stuck on 7. I’d hate to pedal too easily.
It’s a safety feature. If you started spinning too fast today you might spontaneously combust like a Spinal Tap drummer.

ParticipantOh sad! Speedy wishes for your new bike!

ParticipantWell mostly I need to ride more and not sit at a desk all day. Before March I was working on my feet all day and I was SO MUCH HAPPIER.
KelOnWheels
ParticipantI couldn’t face That Hill today on the way home. Yesterday was bad enough. I’ll be sweating on the Metro :p

I’m expecting this afternoon to be sorta like a zombie-like apocalypse, only on Jupiter where all the undead would be stuck to the ground because of the immense gravity. It would make for a terrifically bad video game “High Gravity Zombie Hunt 4”
With my ninja-like reflexes, that might actually be a shooter I’d be good at

ParticipantOh well that’s exciting, Freshbikes have a basic commuter/flatbar bike fit! I could manage that for my old tanky bike
Need new bike. Need stronger back! Tired. Back hurts. Hate sitting down all day. Wahh.
