Yeah, now they’ve moved the thunderstorms to Wednesday which could ruin getting some riding in before the PPTC Tour de France Happy Hour. :(

Well now they’ve moved them to Thursday. If this keeps up maybe they’ll just get bored and decide not to come at all.

Better than when you try to shift to a small(er) chainring because you’re struggling and realize you were already in it…

True dat. Otherwise I’d need a chainring the size of a quarter with about 4 teeth on it…

I say that every year. I guess I like punishment because I keep signing up. This year will be my 4th MCM.

Yeah, I keep going “I really want to run another marathon…” and then I go “WHY?” :D

I did the hill!!! I was only going 5.6 mph but I did the WHOLE THING!!!

And I did it in the second chainring because my bike refused to shift to the small one!

Got to ride with RestontoDC by the airport for a minute on the way home, before he took off like a blue rocket and disappeared into the sunset :)

I think I would like it to inflate around my head slightly BEFORE impact.

Well that was very inconsiderate of them. They didn’t even check with us first.

Oooh, where are you getting chicharrones locally? Are you talking the pork-rind-style ones in the bag from the store, or real honest-to-goodness cooked chicharrones, Colombia-style? Do tell.

Well, they were kinda subpar chicharrones. More like overcooked pork chunks. But the yuca was FANTASTIC. Also the plantains. And the frijoles. And the margaritas. And then I jumped around a lot with a really full stomach.

Cap City and Samuel Beckett’s (which I forgot to mention in the list above) are the main beer places and have a variety of good draft beers. Out of those two, I like the food at Cap City better (a personal thing – not big on Irish food)

More for me! :D I love the food at Beckett’s.

Although I was sad to discover that their Magners draft cider doesn’t seem to be gluten-free :(

But it’s just a repeat of today? :p

This morning the forecast was for thunderstorms tomorrow. Now they’re just calling for hot.

I had one of my co-workers (a sometimes cyclist) ask me if there was something special going on today because he saw more people out on bikes than usual. Nothing I can think of, it seemed like pretty much normal Monday morning bike traffic.

Everyone looked at the weather report for tomorrow ;)

You must get up early. I think Kel was running late today and I was my usual tardy self, and the crowds were out at about 8:30.

Yup, I was running about 30 minutes later than usual. Mondays are hard :P

Despite liberal application of 100 SPF sunscreen, I now have a bad case of “cyclist tan” and a nose that rivals Rudolph.

I need like SPF 1000. I stopped at a stoplight in full sun this morning and I’m pretty sure my skin started to smolder.

I totally cracked this weekend and I thought this might make for good Monday morning banter. My first mistake happened Friday night when I impulse substituted my pasta dish for some tasty looking tacos….in retrospect a REALLY bad decision since I had decided to do a 50 mile Potomac/Palisades loop from Rosslyn on Saturday morning.

Yeah… I did that twice this weekend! First I stuffed myself on yuca & chicharrones and then went dancing Saturday night :p and then I had gluten-free pancakes for breakfast this morning. NOT GOOD PLAN. Fortunately I was not on a 50-mile ride.

Five-second Fig Newton rule totally applies.
