If I run WITH the bike, then it’s cyclocross!

    You skipped Elevensies!

They were in there somewhere, don’t worry. I may have accidentally eaten a couple of Hobbits too.

Not on bike today. Grumpy. :p

I think my metabolism’s finally ticked over into workout mode. Yesterday I was STARVING all day even after two breakfasts & lunch. Today’s the first day I’ve really noticed feeling sluggish & blah since I didn’t get a ride this morning. Fortunately I can get a decent walk in from the Metro and that helped. Gonna have to start running on off-bike days. (THE HORROR!)

It’s fixed! There were some traffic cones & caution tape up yesterday over the fresh concrete so hopefully those will be gone today.

Does the daily rider have bakfiets? they don’t say anything about them on their site?

If I remember correctly the guy who works there that came to Friday Coffee Club mentioned they had just gotten or were getting some in.

Otherwise, we’re dying to find somewhere to test drive a bakfiets or similar around here. Please let us know if you have any leads.

    Daily Rider?

Good ride in this morning, not too many people out. It rained just enough to be refreshing.
Somehow I managed to get my second fastest time overall but wasn’t fast in any one segment.
The asthma was strong today. The legs were stronger. Take that, asthma!
I ate a lot of breakfast, which I regretted about halfway through the ride. Then I got to work and ate more breakfast.
    Now I want pancakes.
Later I will go pick up a Dutch oven from someone I met at Friday Coffee Club that had one to give away. Then I can make coq au vin!
Except I need some coq. And some vin.

Now I am sad because if I want to go to Friday Coffee Club again this week I can’t ride in again until Friday. That being the day on which Friday Coffee Club is. I guess that’s why it’s called Friday Coffee Club. Clever, that.

I did 42.4 miles last week so I can add 4.2 miles this week, or approximately 1.25 Hains Points.

Well, maybe if you would grow up and stop being an angry baby, you could find a bike that fits ;)

That’s how I felt all the way home yesterday and I did eat! Even a Bonk Breaker could not save me. Still feeling pretty dead today. :P

Krazygl00 spotted me in Shirlington and we had a nice chat about steel bikes. Totally forgot to get a picture!

My son was asking what that jar of grey stuff was at the back of the fridge. After I told him, he also wanted to know why. Not for collard greens in our house, we have a great recipe for Irish soda bread that uses bacon grease, and that’s all I’m saying.

Man that sounds good. I miss soda bread. Stupid wheat allergy.

I like how I always stay on topic in threads. Also turtles.

Collards is green, not orange. City people don’t know nuthin.

Some of us were trying to explain to a young coworker why one might keep bacon grease in one’s fridge. He thought that was disgusting. We pronounced him Clearly Not Southern. (This was after we’d tried explaining go-go & Ben’s Chili Bowl.)

    Mmm collards.

    Missed you by that much.

D’oh! Yeah, I left about 8:15 – was a few minutes late to work :P Fortunately they think it’s really cool that I’m riding and don’t mind if I roll in a little bit late every so often.
