ParticipantYou don’t want to miss this – not only cool socks, but riding on the BRAND NEW Rt. 7 sidepath! There are two fun routes, 27 and 16, and you’ll be finished by noon so you can do another event or get to your weekend “TODO” list.
This rides uses roads, paved trails (3 of them!) and has moderate hills. It’s truly a social and friendly ride. We’re limiting registrations to 200, so if you want to do it, you need to jump on registration. Funds a problem? No problem! Just email the supervisors office – we have a fund for that!
Part of every registration goes to fund FABB, which is the leading bike advocacy organization in Fairfax County.
What are you waiting for?

Participant@ChristinaSwartz – I never knew that a memorial for the Holodomor existed outside Ukraine! I googled it and now have the location to go see it when I return to DC. Thank you for posting this!

Participant3/17/24 Happy St. Patrick’s Day
You all have really knocked our socks off today – this is still very much a wide open game!
But to be “arbitrary and capricious” as promised, we will NOT be entering today’s or tomorrow’s winners into the spreadsheet. We will announce the daily winners and overall winner at the April 10 Closing Happy Hour.

Participant@matteblack – 61 flags in 52 miles – yikes. Reaffirms – I’m done. 🙂

Participant@bigredboiler – even if I were to get 12, I’d only be as far as the leaders are today (except Alan who did a bunch but I don’t know how many). Here in El Paso, it’s been really difficult to find flags. The winds here are so strong that people tend not to put out ‘frou frou’ flags, focusing on US and Texas and the Dallas Cowboys.
So, with that limitation, I’ll just enjoy my ride tomorrow and leave it to Alan to enjoy his win.

Participant@BigRedBoiler – I just saw the tiebreaker option. Fortunately, there’s still tomorrow. I’m WAY down in the standings so I’m unlikely to get to the top…
BUT in the spirit of the game, I might try to get as many as possible tomorrow. That said, is there still a limitation of 3 from any “one place”? And does going on a military base and riding through the various housing areas count as all one place and therefore I’m limited to 3? Or are you talking about something like Union Station’s array of flags with that rule?

Participant3/16/24 baubles or bubbles?

ParticipantThanks Carol for the game. When I posted the Wordle last night I wondered why no new entry for Bingo, so morning brought me here. Good thing Nancy got the BINGO before we ran out of Freezing Saddles days!
Now I’m wondering if I should have gotten a different card each time the option arose. I’ll have to think about that until next year!

ParticipantDrevil’s photo for ERUPT is clearly the winner for 3/15. However, since JoM says that he stole her idea, in the interest of maintaining matrimonial harmony, we will give Drevil the option of SHARING his points – giving them all to JoM or splitting them between the two of you.
Until/unless you tell us otherwise, the spreadsheet will say +7 for Drevil.
Before the award of 7 points:
Drevil: 15
JoM: 17
