ParticipantBe careful drevil. This might be a Steve O trap to put a hit on Team 14 and try to reclaim the Bollard Buster name.

ParticipantHi team! I’ve done BAFS since 2016 (except for taking 2021 off) including captaining the 2017 winning team. Freezing saddles helped me transition from a casual fair weather cyclist into a transportation cyclist including going car free. I’ve got 8 bikes and dabble in a little bit of every type of biking, even an occasional mountain bike ride which is still wicked scary. I do a bike tour every year with a group of friends and have ridden the Natchez Trace, Erie Canal, all around Vermont and a nice Maryland & Pennsylvania loop. I run the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail and do trail maintenance every Saturday.

ParticipantNot cheap, but I love Swrve jeans. They’re designed for cycling so they have a bit of stretch and also some reinforcement. I bike in them throughout winter and haven’t had worn them out in 3 years. Typically run $125 but also frequently are discounted or go on sale.

ParticipantThis might be the pointless prize I play this year seeing as I am in ground zero of the Alexandria pizza boom.

Here’s what I got, for this year’s pointless prize.
As anyone who follows the local Alexandria urbanist discourse on Bluesky (so, I think, none of you here) knows, the fact that Alexandria, and specifically the Del Ray and Old Town areas, have a bizarre and growing number of pizza places, “is a thing”.
So, I thought, why not a Freezing Saddles prize?
The rules. Take a picture of your bike, helmet, or similar evidence you biked there, with some pizza, and post it to the forum in this thread. It must be at a commercial pizza place (not at home) and must be for consumption on premises (not delivery or take out). It should be at a place whose focus is pizza (if there is uncertainty or dispute as to what places count, I will be the final arbiter). Only one visit per place counts, and if a chain, only one visit to any place in the chain (note similarity to beerneuring rules) Though I encourage visits to independents or local chains, not national chains.
It does NOT have to be in Alexandria, because, you know, fairness. It can be anywhere on the globe.
The person with the most entries wins.
However in the event of a tie, the person with the most pics in Alexandria (City, not “fake Alexandria”) wins (can include West Alexandria, does not have to be Old Town or Del Ray) If anyone posts a pic from Brooklyn NY, I will likely add that in to the Alexandria number, because I can.
The prize is yet to be determined, but assuredly will be something pizza related.

ParticipantLooked really nice from all of the pictures I saw on Strava. No more feeling like a daredevil when going to Vigilante.

ParticipantThe gap between the 14th St Bridge and the 15th Street Cycletrack has been filled thanks to a recent repaving by NPS. The Cycletrack is useable but not yet complete.
Here’s a video if you’d like to experience it vicariously:https://youtu.be/GxJQxHZRMQk?si=4lWk_rzPkP2nen6k

If they’re a company in Frederick, why on earth doesn’t the WMRT have one?
Trail bump removal isn’t a marketed use for scarifiers. We’ve only found 1 other group doing it. They’re marketed pretty heavily for traffic line removal, uneven sidewalks and surface preparation on concrete for coatings. We’re doing some work with EDCO to share their machines as a solution for other trail groups and owners.
