The foul weather location for the Tuesday Crystal City Coffee Club was the Cosi restaurant a couple blocks south of the waterpark. At least it was when it was last too cold to be at the waterpark.

Wait, you mean that they won’t be serving beer right away in the morning? How will us newbies be able to calm our nerves after racing at 8:15 with about 90 of our closest and equally unskilled friends?

Last Thursday afternoon, @consularrider and I had our own impromptu “expat” pre-season coffeeneuring & brownie ride in the pouring rain to Caffe Amouri in Vienna VA. We celebrated the breaking of the jinx in which he and I have been blocked by the Universe from occupying the same time and space for the past 2 years, despite several attempts to reunite over bikes, coffee or beer on 2 continents.
