I rode the mulch this am on skinny 23’s. It’s really not that big of a deal (it’s also pretty darn short).

This Monday is a holiday for me so I can finally attend Pancake Club!

Pancakes and a ham and cheese omelette and toast and hash browns and…

I suspect the conversation was something like this:

    Quote:
me: “I need to get a set of studded tires this winter so I can be fast in the snow like you.”

dcv: “Uh, they’re not really going to help you that much.”

I could be paraphrasing a bit.

Have you ordered your studded tires yet?

No. I started to and someone *cough*dcv*cough* said they wouldn’t really help me much. I should though because I mean, really, what does HE know about it?

Once my bank account stops hating me, I’ll probably buy some. Can’t hurt to have a set.

Stairs are a little better since you then don’t have to cross Canal Road and hop the guard rail (which honestly looked impossible last night). It was a fun adventure, but probably easier for me to just take the tow path now that I have this fancy gravel bike and all. Planning to hit 41st Street at least once a week. I WILL make it all the way up by x-mas.

It was gone by 6pm last night – I was out exploring the best way to get to the chain bridge from the cap crescent thinking the C&O would be too wet (it wasn’t). My coworker thought there was a connector “trail” (more like cut through hiking path) at Manning Place/Carolina Park) but I’d have to cross Canal Road and…no. Just no. We went a little farther up to where the tree had been cleared before I said it was just easier to turn around and take the stairs at Arizona (?).

My Strava flyby claims I passed someone name “Tania” just downriver from the IOD this morning. There was a claim it was the first commute on “Warbird”. Was that you? And yes, stuff it Metro, and stuff it driving. Every time I do something other than ride to work, I regret it.

    That was me!

Oh. I guess I should should say “yah mahn.” (Warbird color is Black Rasta)

    Metro ridership is way down.

‘[The report] attempts to attribute some of the ridership decline to increased reliance on non-rail modes of transportation, especially cycling, which has the potential to cut in significantly to the number of Metro rides shorter than seven miles. “

It looks like the section of Gallows by the Dunn Loring metro is almost completely repaved: just one short piece remains (from Prosperity to the bridge over 66).

And changing locations, have the eastbound moguls by the bridge to nowhere gotten deeper in the three or four weeks I’ve been off commuting?

No helmet cover? Target plastic bags work great.

How high was Four Mile Run? Do I need to worry about basement flooding in lower Dominion Hills this weekend?

Probably. Forecast is for a ton of rain even IF this hurricane doesn’t hit. And if it does we’re all going to die.
