ParticipantI’m in, although I have no idea what I have to do other than look for new routes.

ParticipantI may put one out tonight. It’ll just be the one that never got picked up last year. It is full and may need a restock and tossing of items that maybe no one wanted.

Reintroducing Calvinball to Freezing Saddles. (Search the forum for a complete history of this game.)
There will be multiple Calvinballs thrown out into the wild for folks to find and hide. Please remember this is a “hot potato” game, not a “make this really hard to find” game.
The ball (shape may be a water bottle or similar–I will post pic of each Calvinball that’s deployed so you know what you’re looking for) needs to be placed in “public” areas. Do not put the ball on or adjacent to military or government installations (i.e., on the grounds at the Pentagon or outside the gate at Ft Myer is a no-no). Take a picture that clearly shows where the ball is “hiding” so that seekers will have a good chance of finding it. Please place the ball during daylight hours to make the location clearer and don’t hold onto the ball for more than a few hours before redeploying it.
Each Calvinball will have a unique name and separate thread here on the forum associated with it. Make sure to post on the correct thread.
Goodies may be in the ball. Feel free to take one out to keep but put back another tchotchke in its place.
I’ll be deploying some Calvinballs this week. And if there’s a volunteer or two from the wilds of Murland who wants to coordinate Monkey and/or PG County, reach out and we can get that rolling as well.
Stay tuned!

Official list? Steven, do you mean the official spreadsheet for the main prize winners?
I’m not sure, I just saw it posted here on the forum. But I just saw the message that you gave me a point. Thank you!! ❤️

ParticipantGetting the 3/19/2023 Wild Card – action, emotion, and engagement (with bicycles) shot I wanted tonight was difficult, but I’m pretty happy with this.
On my ride you can see where the glass (which was A LOT and it’s hard to see how much of the “protected bike lane” it covers. It’s been there for WEEKS!) ended up. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was responsible for one of my flats. But the satisfying CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCHITY CHRUNCH of cars rolling over it was well worth the time and trouble.
I also took pics of Congress with a lone office lit by TVs. Who was it since they’re out of session? Do they live there? Were they working?
Almost got a pic of someone PARKED in a PROTECTED bike lane after circling the block. I guess my yelling worked. Last seen they were blocking cars instead.
Should have stayed at Hains even later. I see some showed up! It was cold even earlier. 30 min. 36 average according to the 1030.

ParticipantSerdar,
Did I also get a point for Pango Pango, which was also on the official list?

The imagery here, Nadine, almost made me spit out my coffee. You’re hilarious. For those of you who are playing this weekend, I’m out of the running so you may yet win the prize! I got hit by a car on Friday and while I’m super sore and whiny, I’m counting my blessings because it could have been so much worse. Getting back on a bike is NOT in my cross check for at least ten days to 2 weeks. So get out there for that fabulous action shot with bike today!
Oh, no! Please make sure we are following one another on Strava (Steve Szibler) and keep us informed about your recovery, etc. I can at least send you anti-car infrastructure stuff. So angry recently with drivers hitting friends and coming so close myself.
Note the end of this video. It’s about more than making infrastructure easier for us.

Participant3/18/2023 – Wild Card with action, emotion, and engagement
First I started taking pictures of a few people practicing soccer shots, but these kid’s screams indicated far more action, emotion, and engagement. A picture of two of them climbing over the fence by the white blob would have been cooler, but I wasn’t fast enough with the camera. The screams of kids having fun are so wondrous.

ParticipantRudolph’s school again. The formative years. I actually got a shot of Rudolphina, but it’s not great. On my ride when I get home. I tried to get a photo of Rudolph The Rein-less Reindeer in the West Hyattsville Metro parking lot, but he proved elusive. I know he’s skittish due to his pre-communist days under the feudal thumb of Claus Corporation, LTD, so I tried to follow him from a good distance, but every time I’d stop to get my camera he’d move again. He was trapped by a bunch of fences and I feared I’d scare him enough that he’d jump – they must have been 7 or 8 feet high – and get hurt. Of course that’s what eventually happened. I heard some contact and hope he’s okay. Couldn’t find him after that. But he had some great teachers at this school.

Awesome! You better win today!!
Not the real Rudolph, just a touched-up commercialized version for product distribution. Rudolph actually sued over the copyright [emoji2399]!

3/16/23 – Donner & blitzen
I got the days mixed up – but I decided to go with it.
This is me after I DONNED a ton of layers to go out & ride into the BLITZEN (aka headwind [emoji16]) So that makes me a Donner…. Blitzen is there too, but you can’t see wind exactly, though it’s definitely in the picture!
Today I rode west on the w&od, because I finally got my woo-hoo! back, and my friend Jan was riding down from Purcelville so I’d finally get me some riding company! Which is the point of freezing Saddles, amiright?
Man today riding out in the w&od was like those dreams where you’re tryna run REALLY HARD but it’s like you’re underwater [emoji2358][emoji38]
Maybe I’ll find a Cupid tomorrow. [emoji848][emoji38][emoji1744]
You’re Woo-Hoo? In any case that’s why I took the metro out tonight!
Good luck finding [emoji3590]
