Melting snow sparkling in the sunlight turns an ordinary moment into something fancy.
Found this New2Me art work on the ride with Paul today.
The art work called Compassion – located at N. Courthouse Road and Clarendon Blvd in Arlington – has an interesting history.
Sculptor Una Hanbury molded it with clay and cast it in concrete in 1967. 55 years later, cracks marred its form.
Una Hanbury’s grandson, Colin Poole … fully reproduced the surface textures and the renewed form was cast in bronze for longevity. Greystar Real Estate Partners funded this project.

During a pit stop at Starbucks in Potomac with Paul, I didn’t spend any cash—the total was covered by my Starbucks card on my phone.

09/01/2025 – WaferI bit this Russian wafer as soon as I opened the package. 😋
I rode to the European Deli and Gourmet Store on Slaters Lane in Alexandria to buy my favorite fluffy sweet wafer. Fun fact: when I moved to US in 2017, I thought Waffle House serves wafers. 😂

Simply said, atlas is a book of maps. Here is a globe, AKA a map of the world, with a snowcap on top. You could say, North America (except for south part of it) is really under snow now.
