For the first-year participants who wonder what Pointless Prizes are, I am happy to share that Pointless Prizes (AKA Reindeer Games) are entertaining activities the Freezing Saddlers enjoy in and out of a saddle. Below are the answers to some questions you might have.

Who can participate in Pointless Prizes?
Answer
Any participant of Freezing Saddles, including Friends of Freezing Saddles, is eligible to participate in Pointless Prizes unless otherwise specified by the sponsor of the specific prize.

Who can sponsor a Pointless Prize?
Answer
Anyone can sponsor a prize. In addition, participants and non-participants of the Freezing Saddles 2025 can sponsor a prize.

What are Pointless Prizes about?
Answer
Pointless Prizes can be about anything! They can range from serious topics like Immigrant Heritage to fun ones like Daily Photo Scavenger Hunt. What unites all topics is that every pointless prize is educational. So rest assured that you will learn, share your knowledge, and have fun by playing along.

Hey @serdar, would folks be up for a #kabob or Pizzaneuring (#pizza) reindeer game?

I assume kabobs have a deep, intertwined history with cycling. And I think pizzaneuring has been tried in the past.

@serdar I’d like to propose a pointless prize for the most delightful thing carried on a bike during Freezing Saddles. Not the biggest thing – a thing that brings us joy and makes passersby wonder what the heck they just saw. Pets? Spouses? Baked goods?
Open to methodology (eg number of likes on a photo posted on the forum or Strava). The prize would be an extremely heinous crocheted granny square safety vest in blinding orange and white.

Any way to investigate why #BoB leaderboard tracker for Sophie CW reports way more #BoB that she does in her Strava?  For reference, leaderboard counts 23, but I counted 15 rides via manual check on Strava.  Luckily, she is crushing everyone so it doesn’t really matter that leaderboard is off.  I looked for obvious thing like 3 consecutive letters B-O-B appearing in her ride titles, but that isn’t it.  Let me know if anything I can do to help.

@bigredboiler some of the activities are “followers only” or otherwise restricted, but they’re all real activities. Have you followed Sophie? More of them might be visible then. The Strava UI is also not great for paging through these things, it would not surprise me if it gave an incomplete view.
