ParticipantOh, thank goodness. It would be sad to spend my last day in existence cruising bike fora and not out biking.

ParticipantI’m interested if the weather is OK. I didn’t get tickets and can ride back by myself or with Steve O (if the talk is not sweet enough). GA

ParticipantYou mean we aren’t the only foolish folks out biking all winter?

ParticipantHello, Shiner Niners;
I’m GA your team captain. Think of me as an organizer, not a mileage leader…
How have your first few weeks been going? Thanks to all for their miles.Right now we are in second to last place as a team, but missing one person. I am hopeful that adding someone off the wait list will help.
As of today, individually we have our Cathy in 49th place with 20 days and a whopping 368 miles, keep it up!
Stephanie is doing great in 99th place with 19 days and 248 miles, and Ben’s consistency is coming in handy with 21 days and 158 miles.
Phil, Tom, Steve and I are doing our parts.I will continue to try to ride consistently remembering the hacks that 1 mile is worth 20 points, ten miles is the sweet spot at 63 points and more miles than that equals more points. I am in 4th place for points per mile, y’all! I’m efficient! (I sleaze).
How would you best like to be contacted? I have phone numbers for Stephanie, Cathy and Steve. I can e-mail all, we can chat through the forum, and I can make ride suggestions on the Strva Club. Weigh in!
Would you all like to meet for a coffee ride sometimes?
Anyone want to organize rides? Its funner together.Most of all, let’s support out teammate in the ParkFinder prize!
Looking forward to hearing from you,

ParticipantHello, Mysterious Members of Team Nine!
I posted on Facebook a team name like Niner Niner Blinkie Shiner, and unless you come up with something better than that on Tuesday, I think I will go forward with it. I might be a little late on Tuesday nigh but hope to see you there.

ParticipantSo, I never know which bike to bring to these events, any suggestions? On one hand, I don’t want to slow anyone down. On the other, my fast bike feels inappropriate for the city. So… which would you choose? Commuting bike (upright, step through, fat tires, street shoes fenders, pannier) or road bike (carbon, no fenders, bike shoes, no storage, scared to get stolen). What do you all ride to fun events?

ParticipantNewbie question: Somewhere I read that Freezing Saddles is for folks in the Washington DC metro area, but on Strava there are folks in the Strava club that aren’t even in this hemisphere. Is this a wide-open Strava club? Doesn’t including folks that live in summery climes during the competition defeat the purpose? Just a question…
