ParticipantHello, Mysterious Members of Team Nine!
I posted on Facebook a team name like Niner Niner Blinkie Shiner, and unless you come up with something better than that on Tuesday, I think I will go forward with it. I might be a little late on Tuesday nigh but hope to see you there.

ParticipantHi everybody! Champion_Tier on the Forum, but Phil to my friends and Stravaland.
First things first: Thanks to Greta Ann for volunteering to be our Team Captain!
This is my fourth Freezing Saddles and my second one overseas. I currently live in Germany having just moved here from Belgium this summer. Most of my miles are from commuting but I try to log some miles over the weekend as often as possible. I look forward to meeting you all virtually and following your adventures on the Strava (it’s always motivational). Most of all, I’m happy to meet more like-minded peeps from NOVA.
Happy riding!

ParticipantHello Fellow Shiner Niners,
My name is Cathy and I live in Fairfax. This is my 5th year doing Freezing Saddles and my first year to sponsor a Pointless Prize. I joined Freezing Saddles to help provide me a little nudge to get out and ride my bike in the winter months. Little did I know that I was going to meet this network of wonderful people that enjoy the outdoors and like to explore the world by bike. I have had a lot of fun and have traveled to and learned about a lot of interesting places around the DMV due to my bikey friends. My bikey friends have also taken me on journeys outside the DMV. There is so much to see and you see so much more by bike (than car).
I am sponsoring ParkFinder. The idea came about when I was looking at an article about interesting places to hike in NOVA. I was not familiar with with one of the parks mentioned in the article so I looked it up on a map to determine its location and how to get to the park. In mapping out a route the light bulb went off in my head and a Pointless Prize was born. For me it is more fun to bike somewhere when I have a destination in mind or a task to complete. If you are not familiar with the Pointless Prizes check out the thread under Freezing Saddles. There is a game for everyone.
I am looking forward to meeting more of our team mates and following everyone on Strava. Have fun and ride on…….

ParticipantHello, Shiner Niners;
I’m GA your team captain. Think of me as an organizer, not a mileage leader…
How have your first few weeks been going? Thanks to all for their miles.Right now we are in second to last place as a team, but missing one person. I am hopeful that adding someone off the wait list will help.
As of today, individually we have our Cathy in 49th place with 20 days and a whopping 368 miles, keep it up!
Stephanie is doing great in 99th place with 19 days and 248 miles, and Ben’s consistency is coming in handy with 21 days and 158 miles.
Phil, Tom, Steve and I are doing our parts.I will continue to try to ride consistently remembering the hacks that 1 mile is worth 20 points, ten miles is the sweet spot at 63 points and more miles than that equals more points. I am in 4th place for points per mile, y’all! I’m efficient! (I sleaze).
How would you best like to be contacted? I have phone numbers for Stephanie, Cathy and Steve. I can e-mail all, we can chat through the forum, and I can make ride suggestions on the Strva Club. Weigh in!
Would you all like to meet for a coffee ride sometimes?
Anyone want to organize rides? Its funner together. Most of all, let’s support out teammate in the ParkFinder prize!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
GA -
