Not that I’m advocating this or anything (disclaimer for all you lawyer types out there) but someone (or several someones) could go out surreptitiously one night and just install some bridge name signs at the approaches on both sides and just leave them there. You know, just sayin’. Could happen.

    Hi all,

There are still a few tickets available for this fun ride, filled with baseball history, camaraderie, a hill or two and a fun day at the park.

    Hope to see you there!

    Got two left by chance?

Reach out to bikenurse (Laurie Lemieux) at Proteus Bikes in College Park, an esteemed member of this forum. Laurie is the owner and fitter at Proteus and, as her forum username indicates, is a nurse by training. Her combination of skills sounds like a perfect fit to assist you. Plus she’s pretty wonderful to boot and runs a great, truly independent, local bike shop. And they’ve got a killer cafe in-store too!!!!

That’s true…now…but the original was indeed on Eads Street at NW corner of 18th and Eads.

If I recall correctly, those low numbers are reserved for politicians/patronage. See the first entry under the “Optional Plates” section: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Washington,_D.C.

That would be a 3rd bathroom (a powder room). We live luxuriously here at The Eclipse at Center Park.

Won’t get rid of the switchback this phase but it’s pretty easy to get from Route 1 to the Potomac Yard Trail on the sidewalk or the road access behind the apartment building.

I’m riding the long tail a lot these days and end up taking circuitous routes and crossing Route 1 to avoid the switchback.

Judd , we snotty neighbors want you to know these are “condos” not “apartments” lest you believe we are so utterly plebeian as to be “renters.”

(Again kidding.) And so far, I have heard nary a disparaging word from folks here at The Eclipse about the proposed changes. Hopefully no dissent will be forthcoming.

“You kids get off my lawn!!!”

Don’t worry. Just kidding, even though this is my back “lawn.”

Glad to see this work taking place.

That sucks. And now we’ll lose access to Specialized.

I’ve started to use Handy Bikes in Alexandria on Wheeler Avenue near Port City. It’s a really small, independent shop but great folks there and reasonable prices.

Also be sure you have the correct wheel size in the settings. It can auto detect on some units but I would check to be sure that isn’t an issue. Also check which GPS setting you’re using (GPS, GPS+Glonass, GPS+Galileo). With Glonass seems to be the most accurate.

Ditto what Mr Accordian said. We’re leaving Arlington at 7, doing a pickup in Falls Church, then hitting the road in earnest, so likely not there until 8:45 at the earliest.

So what time are folks planning to arrive/roll out? And which ride length? I’ve got Edelweiss with me, who is in town visiting this week.

Doing a welfare check on Boo Boo . Not sure if you’re still in the NOLA environs but hoping if you are that you’re safe.
