I’ve already distributed about 2 dozen reflective straps this year. Ninja-quest 2012 is in full swing.

    Dart gun or blowpipe?

Zoom! The air actually felt a bit chilly this morning and there was some sort of large glowing citrus fruit lurking just above the treetops.

I felt fast but Strava says I wasn’t.

Lots of people out running this morning. Don’t they have jobs? GO TO WORK, YOU LAZY RUNNERS! ;)

If you’re interested in learning, I put together this photo tutorial a (very) long time ago: http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6727

I had to hunt that down, and I’m actually surprised the photo links all still work! :p

Oh cool! The photos are really helpful – I’ve tried watching videos but having each step broken down is great. I’m a lousy kinetic learner so I need lots of explanation :p

I can’t bunnyhop at ALL. Like not even a millimeter. :(

When I went running last night I had on a white hat, white shirt, a headlamp and my blinky tail light :D

I do not want any cyclists to not see me! I am slow and dumb when I run. (I do not pull Crazy Ivans though.)

Also I turn BRIGHT GLOWING RED when I run, so that’s probably visible from space.

Awesome (ly humid) ride this morning!

Started out before the sun came up, there was no traffic, hardly anyone on the trail (except for a few people that called their passes AND said good morning!), very peaceful. :)

I ProLinked everything on my bike that could be ProLinked last night and it was like riding a stick o’ butter this morning. Well, maybe a tub of margarine with some toast crumbs and little blobs of jelly in – it is still my bike, after all. But it was very smoove.

Moved my seat up again. Need smaller shorts. They get stuck on the nose of the saddle :p

Why can I ride in the morning with no breakfast, but cannot ride in the afternoon without giant lunch?

The Blackburn Flea light sucks at holding a charge. That is all. :)

Where was everyone this morning? Seemed like 80% of folks took an extra long weekend. I wasn’t passed on MVT at all and only passed two others. And during the peak time. I’m envious of all those with the extra day off.

I had to be in an hour and a half early today, and I have to run tonight because I was lazy yesterday and didn’t do it/was resting my adductor. Stupid adductor.

I’ll be out tomorrow sporting my new venty helmet (white) and new TwinSix jersey (black w/ stripes). :D I’ll still have to be in an hour and a half early though :(

Just an idea, but when the BikeShare delivery folks driving the vans leave a station take a good look before you pull into traffic, I was nearly nailed by a driver this morning who pulled straight into traffic through the bike lane without even looking…. oh yeah, he was on the phone as well…..not a good idea to kill your clients…. just sayin!

They’re trying to load balance! :p

Dammit, passed KelOnWheels again (inbound, on the sidewalk at the Jefferson) and didn’t realize it until it was too late. The heat was melting my brain.

    Mine too. Ugh. :)

I got a MAGICAL whiff of steamy Four Mile Run goodness on the way home and had to stop for a cold ginger ale to recover. Bleargh!

Yeah, they don’t seem to have published the September_2012 page on their site yet. (I tried to peek.)

Awesome morning! I sang “Put a Little Birdhouse in Your Soul” to myself up the MVT. I saw some smiling cyclists riding along and smiling. Possibly at my bad singing.

Friday Coffee Club! I got to meet americancyclo and check out Tales From the Sharrows guy’s new blue Brompton, which he demonstrated the awesome foldiness of. We were all amazed. I will have to post the picture I took of us all being amazed later. Also Lisa demonstrated the foldiness of her Dahon. There was much foldiness today at the Club of the Coffee.

I tried drinking an Americano because I am allergic to dairy but I said “America-NO” to that and had to put some milk in it. :p

No one tried to run me over in the Penn Ave cycletrack today, so that was refreshing. People on bikes that do not look like they would go fast do in fact go fast in the cycletrack. I do not go so fast. Maybe those fast people have not gone 10 miles before they do their going-fast thing. Maybe they are just fast and have those new-fangled fast-twitch muscles you hear about.

Now I am drinking more coffee and eating bacon.

According to the Sprort Cut chart I’m an L or XL but I’m M in Twin Six :p. Sprorty.

I just wish if my clothes plan on continuing to get too big for me (looking at you, brand new bike shorts) that the numbers on the scale would go down just a LITTLE. ;)

To cross threads for a moment (hopefully that’s not like crossing the streams), this bit on wheel weight I’ve just read in It’s All About The Bike is interesting:

“As wheels are accelerated round as well as forward, the mass of rotating parts is doubled, for the purposes of calculating acceleration. So if a 22 lb bike has 13 lb fixed mass and 9 lb rotating mass, the effect will amount to 31 lb.”
