Alternatively, the lazy/non-abnormal could open a service ticket with Strava and they’ll reset it for you.
Yep, that’s what I did. Apparently not an uncommon problem.

Microfiber ties?! Quelle horror.
You can get them in silk so they won’t chafe your delicate sensibilities.

Me. I don’t have a waterproof backpack yet, and the thought of getting to work and having all my work clothes soaking wet sounded like no fun.

Participant…pondering how to sneak my bike into the office on Wednesday so I can go to the Freshbikes ride.

ParticipantWe wound up going Gary to Shelley to the elementary school – there’s a teeny little path you can squeeze through to cut across the playground. Not ideal but it got the job done

ParticipantJust in case anyone’s trying this at home… that handy-looking piece of trail between the Holmes Run Trail and Leverett Ct does not exist. It’s a ravine.

ParticipantAlright, we’re going to venture out this weekend.
I think we’ll try Fillmore to Dawes, cut through the NVCC campus and hit that last bit of Beauregard up to Walter Reed.

It was a good catch. As it turns out, Segways are not permitted on the trail.
From the NPS web site http://www.nps.gov/gwmp/planyourvisit/mtvernontrail.htm
Motorized vehicles, including skateboards, bicycles, scooters, and Segways are not allowed on the Mount Vernon Trail. Persons with disabilities may use motorized wheelchairs on the trail.
But you CAN use Segways on the CCT, which sounds pretty darn entertaining.
The trail is multi-use in various sections. Pedestrians, joggers, bikers, skaters and equestrians share different parts of the trail. Some of the trail sections will not be appropriate for some uses. For example, much of the Difficult Run portion of the trail will not be surfaced and is frequently muddy, with steep slopes and narrow passages. Many parts of the Accotink Stream Valley portion of the trail are paved and not appropriate for equestrian use. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on any part of the trail. The exception is for Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices (Segways and similar devices).
So where can we rent a bunch of these things?

No, that’s not going to so it. You’ll only get to know where some of it is.
In ancient times… Hundreds of years before the dawn of history, lived a strange race of people… the Druids.
No one knows who they were or what they were doing, but their legacy remains. Hewn into the living rock… of the CCT.

ParticipantJust that little bit we did on the FABB ride – that was fun! I just got the Ginormous Fairfax County Bike Map so now maybe I can figure out where the CCT actually is
