ParticipantACPD must be listening. Tonight on the way back up the Custis trial I spotted this parked next the trail:

Then as I was cresting the first of the two rollers I passed two ACPD officers riding the other direction. Needless to say I thanked them and said I appreciated their presence on the trail.

ParticipantYes, great to see everyone! Thanks for organizing.

PS. Got sideswiped/hit and yelled at 100 yards up the road… good feelings didn’t last long!
Yikes. Hope you survived that. Eminva and I braved the traffic on Clarendon to get to Key Bridge and, while there was a lot of traffic, I more or less felt like everyone saw us and gave us space.

I suspect we have two candidates for the next gravel grinder.
Yes, please! Saturday April 6th is looking surprisingly open on my calendar at the moment ….

ParticipantWe’ll see if DCV got to work in time for his 9:00 am call. After chatting with you he caught up with me. We rode for a bit and took some photos before he left me, and my very tired whose-idea-was-it-to-run-after-commuting-legs, in the dust!

ParticipantJust in time for this discussion, the Clymb posted a sale on Selle-Anatomicas.

ParticipantI’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who finds all this wind challenging! Lucky us, we get to do it again tomorrow.

ParticipantVery ELITE. Tomorrow I’ll wear my tiara!

Since I was wearing a backpack today, I wrapped my BA safety vest around the backpack instead of wearing it. About halfway up the Custis I noticed I no longer had a safety vest. I’d like to think speed was a contributing factor.
What time was that? I think you ride earlier than me. I was on the late side today riding too the Custis (slowly on the Ogre) between 8 am and 8:30ish. Didn’t see a Bike Arlington vest laying around anywhere. Return trip won’t be on the Custis because of HAPPY HOUR! If I happen to see one tomorrow I’ll grab it for you.

This was SO MUCH FUN!
I totally echo the sentiments of others here. This was AWESOME motivation to ride through winter. I managed to get on a a bike everyday I was in the country and 7 out of the 21 days I was out of it. I rode more miles by mid-March than ever before. But best of all was getting hooked into this forum and great group of people!
Thanks to my fabulous team for the encouragement. Someday we will take that Team 10 ride!
Hope to see many of you at happy hour tonight.

Probably riding a century at the moment along with the other people who seem to be mysteriously missing from the forum today …

Team century today, perhaps. Watch out Team V!

Everyone’s out doing team centuries I suppose.
Wish! I’m stuck at my desk too. Agree with both the “stupid job” and “happy hour can’t come soon enough” comments.
