ParticipantI don’t get why there’s even a question about it being legal. It’s a pretty good way to get around and in and out of the city. Why would it be illegal?

Are we going to have a 10 page discussion about d-bikes now?
It’s already been done.

ParticipantI totally get why the elf guy should ride on the streets, which is why I started riding my ebike on the road until I was almost killed last year after slipping on ice. I don’t have an answer to this and haven’t read through the entire thread, but has anyone suggested a team for the electric vehicles? I might join that team…

ParticipantMan I’m sorry I missed this thread while I’ve been gone. I wanted to say so many things

ParticipantLast December I had a bad crash on Lee hwy at the intersection of spout run. It was a real nice day, but just below freezing and I did not see the black ice covering the intersection. There must have been a water leak. I ended up in the ER with a badly dislocated shoulder. I had surgery a few months later to repair torn rotator cuff and bicep tendon. My shoulder is still not healed…
Be careful out there!jnva

MetroMaggedon in NoVa!! Total gridlock on Lee Hwy by Rosslyn.
Total gridlock on all streets in Rosslyn.
Sidewalks crushed with people, spilling into streets!
Fire Engines!
Police Cars!
No one going anywhere!
All this compounded by my own personal catastrophe: I had to detour a block out of my way and slow down to avoid the people walking in the streets. That must have cost me two frickin’ minutes.Bikes FTW!
I took my first ride on a bike share from ballston to Thomas circle after getting kicked out of the metro station
not easy to maneuver around all those people walking across key bridge.

ParticipantI’ve been riding my “electric motorcycle” to work for over three years. Before that I rode a single speed mountain bike. Maybe I missed the part that nicbull talked about getting injured, but I’ve never seen an “electric motorcycle” cause an accident – ever. But I have seen many many ELITE cyclists run into pedestrians, other bikers, and just crash from going too fast. You are way of track, Nick.

ParticipantI liked eminva’s name so I copied it. Sorry, is that bad?

ParticipantHow can you tell it is rotten durian? Does it smell good if it’s rotten?

Participant#67 at the monolith of doom this morning. Saw nobody on the WOD between vienna and falls church. A little slick, some wet leaves but overall not too bad of a commute.

ParticipantI like his signature! Makes me laugh when I read it. A little bit less each time though. Ok I don’t like it…

ParticipantIt’s almost impossible to give specific locations, I can never remember where the path ends or what. Just knowing there is a path should be enough to get you out to investigate, right? Maybe if enough people see how poor the bike infrastructure is we can get it improved.

ParticipantI used to commute from Chantilly into dc. There is (or used to be) a very poorly maintained “bike” path along the north side of route 50. I would take that to centreville road, right on Franklin farm, and the then on the now also (but getting better) poorly maintained ffx county parkway trail and then onto the WOD.

ParticipantDid anybody else see the car in the ditch @shreve & WOD?
