I got those ridiculous lobster mitts that Vince has been seen modeling around town. Tried them out today and they were clutch, clutch, clutch..
I second the motion, the word clutch shall be brought back into the vocabulary as meaning awesome! Totally nice score on the mitts.

That is way to purdy for a cross bike. You need to muddy that up.Jason B
ParticipantKathy, just to give you a head count, my two slacker workmates, Rule #10 and Summerdrummer, and I will be there. They most likely will be driving over in an SUV.

It’s along for the ride for now. I thought that I would give it a few miles, put it in one of my favorite caches. It should complete its journey soon. Too bad there are no cache containers down on Hains Point (no geocaching containers allowed on NPS).
I used to go geocaching with my oldest girl all the time, but haven’t done it in a bit. We used to use an old handheld marine garmin. Curious, what device are they using today? Can it be done on a smartphone now? Any app you would recommend? This would be an easy, great way to get my girl to ride with me.
ThanksJason B

If I can drag my fanny out of bed and get in an Arlington loop, I may make an early appearance to just say hi. Later I’ll have to ride straight from home to work just to make a mandatory meeting with our Principal Deputy Director.
I’ll make it and some time tomorrow I most likely will be mandatorily Directed to my Principal for something I did,,,,,so kinda in the same wording boat.

Asking for a report – has anyone noticed any iciness on the trails this morning other than the obvious spots?
Hope to leave for Hump Day Coffee Club shortly.Icier than you may think. Took a nice fall on my face this morning coming around a simple turn before the underpass past Giant on Four mile. However, prior to the fall, I was not attending to any ice. Afterwards, I was more attentive and all was well.

ParticipantIcier than you may think today. Took a nice fall on my face around a simple turn. Don’t worry, it was the left side of my face, non-drive side, so all is good.

If you have a Garmin there is the GSC-10 sensor, that transmits speed and cadence (with good old magnets) to the Garmin head unit. Costs ~$35+
Thanks for help with this.I didn’t realize Trainerroad could be transferred to strava.
thanks againJason B
ParticipantWhy Vulcan? Why? Why have you fore shaken me oh great forger of thy tire? I know now the Four flats in three days is my punishment for making this post last week
“I have a couple thousand on them, a couple fondos that have gravel sections, and I commute on pretty high traffic roads, so glass covered shoulders are often my friend. No flats, except for the one I jinxed myself for tomorrow.“
‘The walk of shame’ this morning (dried glue/no tube) is a reminder to never comment on another tire thread except to remark upon your greatness.P.s., both tires, different spots, psi fine.

It may be excessive, but my kids make me slow down and press their faces against the window every time we go by.Jason B
ParticipantSorry to diverge a tad bit, but how are people uploading their trainer rides with full stats (speed, heart cdc) to strava? This is for a friend who is using a trainer, not me of course.

ParticipantCurious, Is there a way to check the competition from the strava site, like a club icon? I currently have to go through the link at the beginning of this thread, which is totally fine, but I just wanted to check if i was missing something.

ParticipantAnyone do custis today? I want to go back to my skinny road bad.

ParticipantThat is absolutely hysterical. Although, that was not all fun and games, you did a nice bit of climbing, 2500 for ~30!
