ParticipantJust got to work. First time commuting with bar mitts and they are awesome — only part of my body that felt cold at end of ride was feet. Not sure what to do about that…
Pretty nice day, all things considered.

ParticipantHa, thought this looked REALLY familiar and then realized you’d also posted this in that Facebook group.

* By Tuesday afternoon, temperatures only rise into the mid-teens with wind chills still hovering around zero.guga31bb
ParticipantWas that one of you carrying a child in a trailer across the intersection of doom this morning? (hozn?) That was adorable.

Participant1800 miles this year — first full year of commuting by bike (not counting college campuses). In May we moved to about 3x as far away so mileage will increase due to that alone. Maybe I’ll hit 3k?

Oh, that is awesome. I passed you on 4MRT approaching MVT. I was gonna comment on how awesome your bike was, but shyness got the better of me. (I was on silver/grey bike with same [but smaller] fenders.)
Next time say something
. There were actually a lot more people out on the trails on xmas than I was expecting…really nice day!

ParticipantPicked this up on Christmas Eve at Bikenetic. It’s pretty:
Took it to Mount Vernon yesterday. It’s amazing how much more comfortable fatter tires with low pressure is.

ParticipantI saw OneEighth this morning on my way to Custis, got excited, and waved frantically. Thanks for waving back and saying hello rather than being alarmed

The guy I followed down M St today looks familiar…

ParticipantYou: too engrossed by your phone to realize you were walking in the middle of the path swinging your arm all over the place
Me: gave your left hand an unintentional high-five as I passedHow hard is it to pay attention to your surroundings while walking on Custis?? Or at least not walk across the path without even looking first?

ParticipantI pulled the “safety concerns” card to convince my wife I need a new bike to make it through the winter, so ordered a Kona JTS last night (the shop I went to didn’t have my size in stock so they have to have one shipped). I’m really looking forward to trying it out…
