ParticipantI have the same backpack that sethpo mentioned (except mine is the 22 rather than 18) and it’s great. They are really lightweight and I never carry a laptop so waterproofing isn’t important to me.

I should have introduced myself. I was in the hi-vis jacket with the yellow bike (Raleigh R500, yellow handlebar tape, tires have orange sidewalls). I was talking to Paul right in front of you for a bit. Then I got tired of standing still and walked around to take a few pictures.
Oooh I figured that was someone on here but wasn’t sure who. I think you’re the other person in this picture who couldn’t let your bike out of sight: (from BA facebook album)

I saw DaveK, Tim Kelley, all the other ArlCo Daves, Dirt -and I’m sure other forum-all-stars, though I’m drawing a blank now- at the Bikometer unveiling in Arlington. Fun times. Yes, I was late to work. Later than DaveK late to work, which is bad.
I was there in my BikeArlington jersey, but I don’t know what anyone else looks like except TK and Dirt…

ParticipantDirt will probably have better pictures, but here’s some from this morning:
(the middle picture also serves as a great example of why the intersection of doom is a problem!)

That stretch of the Custis is easily avoidable on relatively calm streets (except in Rosslyn itself):

That initial hill on Key ain’t no joke though

If you are a Rusty Stud, we will be buying your (many many) drinks at the first couple of breweries. All in the interest of camaraderie, of course.
You’re offering a bike ride with free drinks? Sounds great!!
