ParticipantWay to go Dana…. he’s our very own bloodhound and a super guy (we should turn that into a premier league chant)

trade? maybe?
That might work. I guess we just need to meet (ha) up and see if the other shoe fits. Thoughts?

:confused: Are you assuming your drinking will decrease after your child is born?
Nope, it’ll just occur huddled in the basement closet instead of at fun bars and breweries.

ParticipantThis has to be a hoax. My wife and I are moving to Shirlington in September (basically 1 mile from the brewery) and my luck isn’t that good. I’m assuming they’ll open on Dec 2nd, a day after my daughter is born.

ParticipantHere’s hoping you are feeling better and the cause of your “spell” was nothing too worrying. Thanks for posting here… I hope the good citizen hears your praises. Best wishes and welcome to the forum.

A note to Ian, if you just had a baby I’m presuming you aren’t sleeping through the night? Plus, a new kid is a lot of stress no matter how much joy they bring.
THIS! I am preparing for a massive change in my commuting life come Dec 1st. Sleep is everything, stress is a close second when it comes to how your body recovers and responds. I typically commute 7 days a week, usually about 25 miles total per day and it takes it’s toll. Some weeks are great, but the ones that hurt the most are when I’m stressed and tired before I even get on the bike. You’re probably worn out and using all your reserves for other purposes, plus freezing saddles is just a plain idiotic way to start your cycling year. Don’t compare yourself to others.. EVER… it’s a terrible idea. I have punished myself too many times for being slow during my commute, but forget that I’m on my feet building all day long while others are sitting at a desk just chomping at the bit to get some physical activity in at the ned of the day. We’re all different… don’t add more stress by worrying about it.

ParticipantJuly 27th, 6:05 pm, 2015…. I hate this game!

ParticipantThanks everyone… lots of great info. I already have a tow package on the Jeep so hitch is available without added cost. I can justify the expense of just purchasing roof cross bars as I’ll use them for work and other possible add-ons down the road. I’m leaning hitch rack… love the 1up especially as I can buy 1 bike first and then add-on as needed, although the Kuat NV looks pretty awesome as well…. ughh, money money money!
Dickie
ParticipantThanks guys. The bike fits fine in the Jeep currently and for quick trips it’s a good solution… I really need a solution for long distance trips (like going to see my family in Canada) when the jeep will already be filled with luggage and pretty soon strollers and other needs.

ParticipantQuit reading after the first line and instead commuted home in lycra on my road bike obeying all the laws and encouraging a young kid struggling up a hill… I’m such an a-hole!

ParticipantIt’s hailing here in Merrifield and we nearly lost a tree…. much worse than anticipated. Gonna be stuck here for a while.
