ParticipantBoomer – thanks so much for the post about the venue change! I rode over to Panera around 8:45 and joined dbb and Dismal there.

ParticipantThis morning’s gathering included Team DRocks (with little rocks aka kids), Consularrider, DaveP and special Maryland Inquisition guest, SarahB:
…and their bicycles, of course…
…and the reason why…

ParticipantSo glad I can be an inferior stand-in while Chris is away. I feel like I’ve not only taken over his house, but adopted a few of his bike routines and friends as well. I’m very happy to meet you all!
The banana pancakes are delicious, just make sure you’re very clear when ordering!

Gina CAha! That’s who the mysterious 5th person in the photo is. Welcome, Gina.

ParticipantWelcome, Gina! Chris used to stop often for breakfast at Best Buns in Shirlington and a few years ago started a Weds. morning coffee club (Hump Day Coffee Club or HDCC) there. Please always feel welcome to join us there too!

And don’t be drawn into the rebel menace just because it’s “more on the way.”

Got to add the potassium on those hot cycling mornings. Too bad the don’t start serving until 7:30 am.

Exactly. The whole point of coffee club is to have an excuse to take a longer ride right?

Shyeah!!!! They screwed up my order, because not many people ask for them. Totally worth the wait though!
I just moved into Dominion Hills and started riding before I’m halfway unpacked. I hope to get to all of the coffee stops eventually. I work for NatGeo downtown, with a flex work schedule so flexible it’s hardly a schedule at all, so “on the way” is all relative.
Took a rest day today and opted for the Orange line…. what a mistake. Train packed like sardines stuck in the tunnel below Court House for 30+ minutes, and they blamed the passengers by saying excessive ridership caused the malfunction. Metro, always obliging to pile on motivation for bike commuting.

ParticipantI showed up late for MMPC today but found KayakCyndi, ShawnoftheDread, Nimish, Dismal Scientist, and DaveP nursing coffee. There was a drive by sighting of Dirt, and lots of hurtful commentary about his lack of acknowledgement of the MMPC.
I then joined Nimish on his commute w/ Kayak Cindy, after which she and I went onto the Green Lizard Cycling shop for a proper coffee.
While @greenlizardbike, KayakCyndi got a new pair of cycling shades, after which she marveled at what the WOD really looks like in fogless, scratchless lenses.

ParticipantI would have been there if I didn’t have so much crap to do. “Crap” = multiple appointments and a large-looming deadline on my dissertation. I hate feeling like it takes too much time to ride; it means I don’t have enough time to do what I want.
In other news, I got to say hi to Dirt (from my car) as he crossed Little Falls with the trailer.
He’s pretty easy to spot like that!
