Participant3/8/24 Toothbrush on the ground behind a car. Taking pic and lady with her Doberman in driveway across the street looked concerned by me stopping. Considered taking home to sanitize and use for extra pints but decided I must not be that competitive!

Participant3/8/24 EARLY in the share bike culture there were only the nice and neatly racked Capital Bikeshare bicycles and then scooters and lock and go bikes from Lime and Lyft and whoever else started littering paths and lawns and streets.

Participant3/7/24 Rescued from the storm drain and the Potomac, an “I VOTED” sticker. Put it on my water bottle and the backing made it into a garbage can. Photo 1, the street treat, and photo 2, the rescue

Participant3/7/24 CLONE– daffodils. Had to check my biology memory on google and confirmed that the bulbs may be the result of asexual reproduction. When the new bulbs and subsequent flowers and plant are the same organism as the original, it is indeed a CLONE.

Participant3/7/24 Marriott flag. A slack flag is an indicator of great windless cycling weather. Was a beautiful day with blooming trees and daffodils.

Participant3/6/24 Some people put modern art sculptures on the front lawn; others put rusted cars and farm vehicles in front of the barn…throughout the competition, I often say to myself, “what is art?” and “what makes art “public”? Is it public if we all can see it or is it public if funded with government funds? Yes, riding alone is a good time to have conversations with oneself!!!

Participant3/6/24 Unhinged when I ran over this rusty hinge (1) today… but thankfully, I was wearing my repurposed treat from two days ago to keep off the rain while I took a picture

Participant3/6/24 TEARY (forum tech issue again)… Seeing this rusted car in the field made me think that the people living there long for days of olde and must get TEARY when they think of yesteryear.
