2/10/24I love all the art in this yard. My husband & I met the gardener once when he was working there. He’d been working there for years & was quite proud of the yard – and rightly so. It’s even nicer in spring /summer/fall.
2/10 – Go Beyond the Light at Artechouse in SW DC for an immersive experience in an artistic exploration of our unseen universe
2/11/2024 – Freedom to Read by Davide Prete is a sculpture outside of the Capitol View library in DC. It shaped as two pages of a book, open as wings to represent the freedom of reading and learning. The two quotes (one from Nelson Mandela and one from Langston Hughes) were chosen by members of the Capitol View neighborhood.
2/11/24 8th and G Streets NW. I love the way the colors on my bike (the blue stripe, and the green plastic bag I was using to hold a spare jacket) mirrored the colors on the sculpture.

2/11/24 Mardi Gras decorated seeder (I think it’s for seeding – or used to be. I’m thinking the whole structure is likely art at this point)

These two mosaic-clad birdhouses at Sunrise Valley Elementary School in Reston were created in 2019 by 5th grade students under the guidance of professional artist and teacher Shahin Talishkhan, in collaboration with noted mosaic artist Valerie Theberge.
