2/7/2024 – Another former fire station I randomly found this evening.
This is the former home of the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Department. While the department itself was founded in 1922, this building dates back to 1937; the second story was added in 1952. The building was vacated about 20 years ago when several nearby fire departments consolidated operations in the Bunker Hill station on Rhode Island Avenue.
In 2021, Brentwood began a major capital project to renovate the old fire house and turn it into a new town center that will have community space as well as administrative space to support the town’s government. The original project page has a completion date of June 2022. (Oops)
