    Saw Dickie on the MVT trying to get clear of a bunch of slowpokes going north up the hill from the DCA exit ramp.

    I think I saw consularrider on the Brandymore Castle hill this afternoon — coming east while I was going west. I didn’t realize it was him until I heard his voice when he called his pass to a walker ahead of him. That was just as I went by.

    Nice to cross paths with, then get chased down by OneEighth. Sorry I had to peel off at the TR Bridge, I was trying to make it into the office a little early this morning…otherwise I would’ve ridden the long way ’round with you.

    Said “HI” to Eminva this morning as she passed the Fairfax exit on Custis…. at least I hope it was her… if not, I said “HI” to a complete stranger who responded very nicely. Then saw a dread-blur (I believe) as I went under the 66 tunnel, he raised his fist to the air in a “Breakfast Club” manner. Got a random and hearty “Good Morning” from a happy runner in Benjamin Banneker Park. Then Spotted and said “HI” to Rando Guy on the W&OD… I am pretty sure he had something uber cool in his handlebar bag as usual.

    I’m pretty sure I also passed eminva between Vienna & Gallows on my abnormally late ride westward ? I also completely missed dcv waving “hi” as I was chatting w/ a friend on the side of the trail. And culimerc passed then too heading westward. I felt oddly social to see so many people I knew.

    Doug caught up to me at the Gallows Rd light, we rode for a bit. It took me a few seconds to process it was you since it was later than ususal.

    Yes, probably so. There are actually quite a few westbound commuters, and sometimes I see someone and wonder, “Is that someone I know? Or is he one of the “Bobs” who looks familiar because I see him going the other way every day?” So I sort of thought it was you but then figured I was wrong because IIRC you usually commute earlier.

    As a Fairfax County resident, it is great to see so many of you headed the other way, doing the unexpected commute.

    Ha — that’s awesome. Yeah, Doug asked me “Do you know that guy? He waved to you.” So I explained that yes, and that he had met you too on the Kill Bill ride. :-) Doug was apparently out testing his new badly-welded-and-maybe-still-cracked titanium frankenbike commuter.
