This is a non-sighting report… May not have been someone from the forum either.
I was late out of the barn to get to the Wednesday night ride. I was hammering out the W&OD riding solo on the tandem. I caught the light at Gallows Road about right and two guys heading the other direction (who I heard, but didn’t see) said, “Was that Pete?”
I yelled back, “Yup! That was Pete!” but had to keep hammering. I made it out to pick up Chris and then back to the ride start and was 90 seconds early. I paid for that hammerfest later in the evening when I ran out of gas about 10 minutes after leaving Lake Fairfax Park.
On an unrelated note, but worthy of documenting… Cat6 Pathletes riding $6000 carbon road bikes react rather negatively to being passed by a guy riding solo on a HUGE, full suspension, 29er, mountain bike tandem. I won’t go into details except to say that I heard expletives spoken.
Love,
DirtDid you ride past yelling “Wuss, wuss, wuss”? Cause if you past them riding that, they should be sad and embarrassed for themselves.

I was my normal, fluffy self. Maybe being happy and cheery isn’t the best way to pass. I should have been suffering more.

You should have referred him to Rule 5. When you are passed politely by someone you believe has no business passing you, it is time to look inward.

ParticipantNice riding with ShawnoftheDred and DismalScientist this morning. There was nothing dreadful or dismal about the morning! Free swag at the Crystal City bike to week stop too.

I also saw Culimerc as I rolled into Reston.
Our bikes match!

Seen last night;
One giant pink fluffy princess (and I mean that in the best way) on a giant bright orange full suspension mountain tandem with neon green wheels.Rode with a friend of mine to Ashburn and back on the W&OD last night, I spotted culimerc coming towards us and tried to say hi but he was really in the zone with a massive smile on his face… guessing he had just seen Dirt who must have been ahead of us!

Was he picking the gnats out of his teeth?

ParticipantRode a bit with ShawnoftheDread this morning between BTWD pits stops, sorry Shawn for:
1. Being a scofflaw and trying to bait you into running red lights.
2. Camera malfunction, only got a pic of you from behind.May 17, 2013 at 1:11 pm #970443Honeybadger6
ParticipantSaw 1/8th not one, not two, but THREE times this morning during various BTWD riding and swag-collecting! I can finally post in this thread! In fact, it was great to see all of today. It’s so nice to feel like a part of a really fun-loving, energetic community! And I wasn’t hungover at ALL after last night! Which was admittedly the best part!

ParticipantDoes it count towards a OneEighth Sighting if I told Dickie I’d visit him at the Rosslyn BTWD pitstop and then saw him there? I biked from my apartment near Ballston down to the Rosslyn pitstop and back to the Ballston pitstop so I’d at least feel like I had a normal bike commute. It would bring my lifetime 1/8th sightings to a grand total of: 1.

ParticipantGood to see you all – a whole bunch of forumers at Ballston, and I fun with the Bullitt too (although I couldn’t figure out how to really ride it). Then I stopped in Rosslyn – rcannon, OneEighth, Dickie, TwoWheelsDC + Honeybadger, then in DC – ShawnDread, and jrenaut briefly and a few FCCers too.
I never thought I would own a pair of Rosslyn BID shades. Best swag though? The BikeArlington cap.

Aww . . . the downside of working in one spot.

ParticipantHad my first OneEighth siting at the Rosslyn BTWD and then saw him again as he swiftly passed me on the MVT. Also saw rcannon at Rosslyn and excited to get a Bike Arlington vest.
