Were you guys all riding in 1972, or is that a cool filter on your camera? Fraction Man’s stache certainly contributes to the context!
Not enough scratchy wool for 1972. And the soles of my shoes are not leather covered wood (though I had a sweet pair a Duegi’s like that back in the day…) Great to catch up with dbb and to ride in with americancyclo and TwoWheelsDC. Many thanks also to the awesome folks who staffed the pitstop!

ParticipantHoly Cow!! I think I saw OneEighth and didn’t know it. Monday at the Crystal City pit stop. I feel like I’m part of this forum now. Bonus I caught a draft from RootChopper on the way in this morning.

ParticipantOn the evening ride saw the mustachioed one heading the other way and then caught up with RootChopper on the Humbback Bridge. Also saw a BikeArlington jersey close to milepost 4.5 on the W&OD but didn’t recognize the rider.

Feel free to say hi! We don’t wear name tags like the happy hour, but always like to put faces with names. I’m the one with the big purple bike.

ParticipantHad a nice little ride with Jason K yesterday down 4MR and W&OD. Thanks for slowing down to ride, it was nice to chat for a while.

ParticipantGot to ride in with AmericanCyclo (again) and DBB this morning. The Crystal City BTWW tent is the place to see and be seen…particularly around 715. Barring a disaster, or extreme sleepiness, I’ll be there again tomorrow.

ParticipantThis is a non-sighting report… May not have been someone from the forum either.
I was late out of the barn to get to the Wednesday night ride. I was hammering out the W&OD riding solo on the tandem. I caught the light at Gallows Road about right and two guys heading the other direction (who I heard, but didn’t see) said, “Was that Pete?”
I yelled back, “Yup! That was Pete!” but had to keep hammering. I made it out to pick up Chris and then back to the ride start and was 90 seconds early. I paid for that hammerfest later in the evening when I ran out of gas about 10 minutes after leaving Lake Fairfax Park.
On an unrelated note, but worthy of documenting… Cat6 Pathletes riding $6000 carbon road bikes react rather negatively to being passed by a guy riding solo on a HUGE, full suspension, 29er, mountain bike tandem. I won’t go into details except to say that I heard expletives spoken.
Love,

ParticipantSeen last night;
One giant pink fluffy princess (and I mean that in the best way) on a giant bright orange full suspension mountain tandem with neon green wheels.May 16, 2013 at 12:55 pm #970203 -
