ParticipantWe got a wonderful surprise visit from Mark and Megabeth while cleaning out the garage yesterday. That’s what I love about bikes — if you happen to see your friends out and about (or cleaning out their garage, or swinging on their porch), you can stop and chat.
Hopefully in few months we’ll have berries to share with cyclists who ride by on the way to Cherrydale Hardware.

ParticipantPossible 1/8 sighting at the Lincoln. As I was riding up 23rd and in front of the Lincoln, I heard a bike a ways behind me and turned to see a large red fixie with a 1/8-looking rider turning to ride toward the Korean War Memorial.

Wouldn’t be caught dead in green shoes or a blue jersey… Though I will concede that dude’s socks appear to compliment his jersey and his shoes (yellow accent).
Sighting-rich ride home. Dismal at Gravelly Point. Not sure who shouted my name moments (red kit and bike?) later by the edge of the airport (I was focused on the Cabi rider in front of you—the guy with the red-going-to-grey beard whom I usually see commuting on a Cabi standing in the pedals). Shawnofthedread just before the Custis intersection with the W&OD—red ‘stache and all.
But no Consularrider. Bummer.

That was me. I usually ride with the standing CaBi guy in the afternoon. I also saw Dismal at Gravelly Point.

ParticipantSaw Bilsko this morning. I was a little out of breath after killing my PR on my Strava segment.

ParticipantSaw Dismal again today. This time on the Crescent Trail in Kenwood. I think I startled him as he was dealing with a large group of walkers blindly entering the trail.

ParticipantAnd I believe that was DBB heading to Hains Point this morning. I was on my way home from work. Unfortunately I have a kid with no school today, so I’ll be working at home and missing Coffee Club, but my laptop was at work. So at least I got to do the most important part of my work day – my commute.

Indeed it was. Heading to the HP hamster wheel to continue the negotiation between my new saddle and my old butt. So far, the saddle seems to be winning.

Whether exiting a porta-potty or running over pedestrians in deepest, darkest Maryland, it’s just impossible to escape the prying eyes of the forum.

ParticipantI feel like I see folks all the time that are *probably* forum members, but since I don’t *know* anyone, I usually just give an exaggerated (read: awkward) nod or smile to everyone. I am almost always wearing a Bike Arlington red string backpack, so if you see me, please say hi!

ParticipantThink I saw Dickie northbound on Gallows about 5:20. A Double Dickie Day.

ParticipantI saw virtually everyone today.
2 highlights….
1) Seeing meeting Rod for the first time.
2) Riding with SkreaminQuads… who’s left arm just grew back.
Love,
Dirt
