I think I saw americancyclo on M St this morning – big purple Specialized westbound on M St in Georgetown around 8am (I was in a car)
I was EASTbound on M st. from 7:47-7:49 this morning. There were a few other cyclists around me, but I tend to take the middle lane there.
If it was westbound, maybe there is another big purp out there?

ParticipantI had sightings of reverse commuters culimerc and crysb this morning. I thought I saw rcannon on the Custis, just before the Rosslyn hill. He had the pirate flag on his seatpost, a drawing of a cannon on the back of his jacket and a pink Bike Arlington VIP zipper pull on his pannier. When we got across Lee and behind the retaining wall, where it was quieter, I called out, “Bob, is that you?” But either he didn’t hear me or it wasn’t Bob. And then he dropped me on the downhill.

Hmm… that reminds me. I thought I saw you on one at Coffee Club on Friday, with STI SHIFTERS, no less.
And that bike was advertised as a “touring bike.” The sacrilege! It seems like a waste to rip them out and replace them with bar ends.

That’s your excuse for being caught red handed?
Just wait until they break/malfunction and then replace them. That should only take a few rides right?

The left shifter already malfunctions at random but non-frequent intervals. Had to take them into the shop three times already. I guess shifter malfunction are why they put limit screws on derailleurs.

ParticipantSaw Dismal Scientist taking the right lane on L Street this morning, blasting through a yellow while I had to slow down for merging traffic in the bike lane and got stuck at the red.

ParticipantMan, I just got ELITE’d by dasgeh, so there’s no appeal. But I say Dismal was ELITE, not me.

I meant that Dismal was ELITE.

ParticipantSaw Culimerc as usual, maybe guycontinental too (black jersey with offset white stripes?). Then met slowtriguy – good to meet you

ParticipantI think I saw Dana today riding down Penn, but I might have been in scofflaw mode.

ParticipantRode with GuyContinental through Clarendon and Ballston this morning before I had to detour to the Dr’s office. Nice of him to ride my pace for a while especially as he was running late!

I had added a JRA component to my commute this morning. Figured I would contribute to the count of riders in the cycletrack to help train the motorists. Then had a DC police tow truck stop on E street right in front of me for no good reason, barely got unclipped in time.

Yup, first time on the late plan (I’m usually out the door before 6) in over a year, and in my Pepe Lepew black/white kit. I thought that was you but I was deep in flowery springtime thoughts.
I was amazed at how many folks were out and heading WB… even grabbed a wheel up out of Hunter Mill (that makes it the second time in 150+ trips) although I think that the “wheel” may have eventually regretted his decision to pass since I sorta didn’t let go and kept pushing the pace while chattering away from behind. Muhahaha…

Quite the busiest morning in quite some time. But the only Forum person I saw was baiskeli headed south on the MVT just after he left the Trollheim elevated walkway.
