ParticipantSaw vvill on the Mason bridge heading for home. I looked back after I said hi and didn’t see him. For a moment I was concerned he had gone down the stairs, but then I realized he was just going fast.

ParticipantQuite a day for sightings on the MVT today, rcannon both coming and going, then baiskeli on the Roosevelt Trollheim, and finally at the intersection of doom our titular character!

I believe I saw you on the MVT boardwalk actually. Orange bike, right?

ParticipantAmericancyclo (with apologies for being a bit slow) and then Consularider sightings on my ride today.
How many folks in cars know each other and call out greetings? Didn’t even happen much when I was motorcycling into town.
Pretty sure I saw DismalScientist yesterday morning at Walter Reed and 4 Mile Run, but I was in the car and decided not to confuse things by shouting.
Seriously, though—how lucky are we?
Be safe all, especially with the influx of tourist and buses.March 21, 2013 at 2:02 am #965337ShawnoftheDread
ParticipantThink I saw Lena just east of Lee Hwy around 4:45 today. Orange Gunnar?
Then after an emergency pit at Bikenetic, caught up with culimerc on West St.

ParticipantI had a sighting of another friend this morning. Some of you may have seen a strava post in which I mentioned coming across a lost bicyclist late on a freezing cold and windy night at Hains Point while I was riding loops for BAFS. She turned out to be a Smithsonian intern newly arrived from Belgium who had just bought a bike on Craigs list and was trying to find her way to the 14th street bridge in the dark and without a good bike map. She’s a delightful person who bike commutes daily and is enjoying discovering the trails around Arlington, and since BAFS resulted in her rescue (or at least a guided tour to her destination that night – her soon-to-be housing near Shirlington), I invited her to the happy hour tomorrow and will introduce her around. Please give her a nice welcome if you see her there or out on the trails. I know she would be happy to share info on cycling in Belgium and Belgian beers.

That was me enjoying the lovely evening. Hope to meet you tonight at the Happy Hour so I can put a face to a name and say hi next time!

Yep, I heard you! I said hi back, somewhat belatedly. And the alignment/position of those stairs has always freaked me out… if I were a biking tourist or someone else unfamiliar with that drop-off, yikes!

ParticipantYesterday was a very forum heavy day for me. Saw eminva, Hans, and Shawn. The only person missing was DCV, who I saw this AM.

Yeah, just wait for the cherry blossum tourists taking out their first CaBi at the new station by the Jefferson Memorial. A lawsuit waiting to happen???

I don’t think so. CaBis are pretty sturdy. I don’t think they would be damaged if a tourist took them down the stairs!

ParticipantCrossed paths with Dirt this morning on the Custis as he was about to head under 66. He was screaming along even though he had his pink buckets attached… probably late for coffee club!

ParticipantOne eighth was one of the few riders I saw on today’s sloppy commute. On the Custis between the Harrison and I-66 underpasses.
