I had a legitimate, two-way, recognized in time to say hi, sighting of DaveK yesterday on the trail near the Iwo Jima! So exciting!
BTW, the new traffic light on N Meade St at 14th St N is nice. Is that going to become permanent?
I believe so. I think this is where you are talking about: http://www.odestreet.com/2013/01/look-out-for-new-stops.html

Great to see you! Used to happen all the time, but I thought you had changed routes since moving up to Cherrydale.
It’s my understanding that it’s temporary while the Courthouse Rd bridge is down, since the detour route for traffic entering eastbound Rte 50 is down the Rte 50 service road and across Meade St. The all-way stop at the service road and Rhodes St is similar, although I wouldn’t be surprised if that stays in place after the construction is finished.
The Meade St bridge project did include a concept design for signalizing the service road and Meade St intersection, but it isn’t funded and there’s no construction date.

I hope not. I much preferred the quiet stop sign before all the traffic appeared when the intersection was much easier to navigate. If the traffic subsides again when the construction is done, I’ll probably end up being the number one red light runner.

Shows what I know. I have changed routes, but I had to stop at Whole Foods, and I was excited to visit the ol’ stomping grounds, so to speak.

ParticipantEveryone is spotting Desgeh everywhere. Well, actually I keep seeing her at almost exactly the same place.

What time was this? I rolled through about 545, so I couldn’t have missed folks by much.

ParticipantLooking at that pic I’m pretty sure I passed by you (Bob) on my way to the 14th St Bridge on the MVT this afternoon. Black jacket on a silver Cannondale, one orange pannier on it. I’m pretty sure I’m also the only person who doesn’t own a high-vis yellow jacket.

I was advocating this morning, so I plead the Fifth on how and when I actually got to work.* But you may have seen me biking down Quincy between home (near Lee) and the Ed Center (at W&L).
It’s so much fun to see people! It’s like my lucky week. Except I feel “busted” every time I do — I really need to get off the ebike and back onto my road bike. Stupid sitz bones. For as long as I’m on my cheater bike, I have the very recognizable, very ugly milk crate on the back (most panniers don’t fit because of the battery set up).
