ParticipantAnd there was OneEighth again this evening coming out of the mist in the Roosevelt Island Parking lot. Of course, I was 30 or so feet away on the MVT, so no pleasantries were exchanged.

If one cannot make a dramatic entry, why bother?
Thought that was you, but wasn’t sure.

ParticipantI had the distinct honor of riding shoulder to shoulder with consularrider for 4 or 5 miles on the W&OD tonight. Awesome to catch up with you, sir!

Yep, Shirlington to van Buren, nice to be riding in the same direction for a change!

ParticipantGreat seeing Kathy out tonight! I thought it was her and then went through a mental checklists from a number of her posts: Regular shoes? Check. Thick wool socks? Check. HighVis rain coat? Check. Orange construction vest that she mentioned today? Check. Glad I caught up to say hi.

ParticipantRan into Team V teammate Bilsko this afternoon around Washington Circle. Unfortunately I had organized to meet my family for dinner at a specified time so we couldn’t do any extra team miles. Maybe when this horrid weather clears up a bit.

ParticipantSteve,
Great to see you too – thanks for saying hi! You brightened my day. Looking forward to seeing you again at the CapCity/PortCity ride.

ParticipantMy luck continued tonight. Rode shoulder to shoulder with The Man in Black (the one, the only, OneEighth) though he was wearing red and black all the way up the W&OD to his turn off at Custis. Gotta try and meet up again tomorrow. More catching up to do. I was talkin’ too much and didn’t get to listen.
Rock on!

ParticipantFun riding with you vvill – found my gloves safe and sound waiting for me at home. Also just bought a pair of the new MASH branded Giro gloves – just in case.
Maybe we do some snow miles tomorrow.

ParticipantDirt sighting – hey Pete I saw you waiting to cross route 50 around 6:30pm while i was sitting in traffic (hang my head in shame). Recognized the green Steelwood with woodgrain deep V’s & fenders.

That intersection is part of my commute too.

Not a bad visibility check. The front and rear reflective stickers on the rims are still working. A few good reflective points on the jacket and pants. I like how the rear light really gives least 270 degrees of visibility. The Flashy leg band that I got a few nights ago at Tri360 is a good addition. I need to invest in more 3m tape for the frame. All of the black sections of the frame could be lighting up like a pinball machine when headlights hit me.
Thanks for the photo. That helps.

ParticipantDismalScientist passed me right after the West Glebe underpass and then slowed down and rode with me past Gravelly Point before peeling off to head to the Friday Coffee Club. Nasty headwinds heading north along the Potomac.

ParticipantMet a ton of Canadian Tourists on MVT during the ride home.
Also someone in a cycling Eskimo suit that only showed their eyeballs said “Hi Pete” on the MVT just south of the Roosevelt Bridge boardwalks. I said “Hey!” back.

Wasn’t me, pretty sure we crossed paths near the Crystal City connector. You looked deep in thought.
