I was the slowpoke. Tim and OneEighth went off on an expeditionary tour. I hung back and drove the peloton at 30kph all day. I really enjoyed the ride, even though I know we slowed down the speed demons. The peloton arrived back at the cars safely and together. The expeditionary forces? Not so much. ;) No damage to body, but there were a few alternate routes and a flat tire along the way back. Tim needed the extra mileage.

Has Pete told you about Kill Bill v.6 later this summer? You might want to bring a bike with gears to that one…

There’s a definite upper limit to a fixie on a flat.
Hills, however, can be loads of fun—you get beat up going up and coming down. I think Kill Bill is probably a bit steep, but a fixed gear hill ride through North Arlington would be interesting.
    I’ve got a geared bike somewhere…

If y’all are open to more riders, I’d love to tag along on that ride!

    Amen.
Perfect way to the end the commuting week.
    See you out there!
P.S. – Big Bertha is truly impressive as is your uphill speed on that thing.

Haynes Point… 1630 hours for some 8 minute acceleration intervals. LOL My legs hurt already. :D

Especially since Tuba will be on his sub-15 pound Madone.

Hmmm. Might see you on MVT again then. I intend to punch out at 1700 and beat feet north (with a possible pit stop at the Bicycle Pro Shop).

    Happy Monday.

I’m gonna suggest that he and I head home via National/4-mile run/W&OD. We’ll hunt you down.

Well, you won’t catch me if you go South to National/4-Mile Run/W&OD, cuz I’m going North MVT to Custis. Of course, I could skip the shopping portion of the trip and go South instead, ride a little harder, and still pick up my kid on time…
Lemme know which route you want. I’m game. Also on the Surly, so somewhat slower today.

Americancyclo siting on the ride home last night. We had a great, mellow ride home. We ride the same route, but our commute times are so different that I’ve only seen him 3 or 4 times this year.

Y’all make the commute look like fun. Only pity is that you couldn’t get the bumper-to-bumper I-66 mess in the background for contrast.

Those climbs were a pain… especially the 2 Sisters. I had 3 liters of liquor in the front pannier and the usual laptop, 2 iPads, clothes, etc in back. Seriously fun.
