I actually had an actual one-eighth sighting on the MVT by DCA this morning. The fractional man and I rode along DCA until he put the hammer down. Great seeing you! Pre dawn so no photos
Glad you called out. I enjoyed riding with you for a bit this morning. Sorry I had to beat feet. Think I was faster today because the chops came off after trick-or-treating.

Was dbb riding through Gravelly about 8:30 pm Halloween night and commenting on a motley crew of strangely lit bicycles near the port-o-potties?
Indeed. Those were some pretty sweet decorations! Camera battery was dead or I would have stopped. I was riding home after a fun filled day of Hurricane Sandy response (in between the Hurricane Isaac issues that keep bubbling up)

ParticipantRode to work with Ned Flanders or G. Gordon Liddy. Not sure which.
Totally joking. I love Oneeighth’s facial hair confections.

So jealous of this ride but I was gettin’ tweedy with it instead. There’ll have to be another one soon.

ParticipantGravel grindin’ is good for your soul!
Dirt has said he’s hoping to make it a regular ride through the winter.

I’ve been asked to research a slightly more fixie friendly variant on what we did. I think it can be done. I just need to explore a little more.

Hey 1/8th what cycling cap is that? It kind of looks like one that SWRVE makes that I really wanted, but I’m not sure.
See, you can look at that picture and see something other than the ‘Stache or the blinding Mavic Vision jersey.
BTW, I’m loving my new Vision Vest.

You’re going to force me to go all Gallic with the Stache, aren’t you?
The cap is from Pace. It’s wool and comes with a soft bill, which is not really a good thing when it gets windy. I had a local tailor insert the plastic bill stiffener from a worn-out Pace cotton cap and now all is well. Personally, I like the mini-visor Pace caps better than the Walz caps because they allow me to get the helmet lower on my brow. That said, I wear my Walz cap whenever I pass on the helmet, ‘cuz it’s nice, too. Everything has its place.
