I must have been asleep. I usually hate all humans before I’ve had my second cup of coffee.

Is that the cure? I have to start drinking coffee.

Works for me, but I’m rarely mistaken for human. Not sure how the rest of you react to coffee.

Pete, after coffee?
Hahaha. I hadn’t seen those yet. I love it. Wish there were a few that had me on the bike and in motion. I’ll have to go look for more.

ParticipantSaw THIS camera mount and thought of Dirt.
Inspired by this thread, I actually carried a waterproof camera for a few weeks but always forgot that it was in my jersey- having it on my bar would be annoying. Maybe Dirt’s holster is the way to go… Or if it wasn’t so expensive, one of THESE things on my helmet.

I’ve tried a bunch of stuff for attaching the camera to the bike, but never found something I like. Some of the video mounts are okay, but most are quite shaky. A friend who shoots a lot of video on his bike has created his own mount for his Contour HD using parts from Panavise professional camera mounts and some things from a hardware store. His set-up works great, but also costs a lot. As for the still camera, I vastly prefer holding the camera myself. It is much easier to aim and I get a shot that is steady and better composed.
I sometimes carry a waterproof camera when the days are rainy or there are a lot of creek crossings on the ride menu. Nice thing about those is that I can carry it in a jersey pocket, or better yet, tucked up the leg of my shorts. Makes it very easy to pull out and shoot.

ParticipantFinally saw Mr. Dirt, just North of Gravelly Point. He looked hungry, lucky for him the planes were landing.

I was damn hungry. Funny that it showed so much. I’m doing battle with “the last 10 pounds” and it is putting up a big fight. That sometimes leads to 90 minute slug-fest rides when the tank is on empty.
Sorry that I didn’t clue into the spotting. I was pretty intent on getting to the shop and then rolling home.
Rock on!

ParticipantSaw Bilsko crossing the Key Bridge going opposite directions yesterday. First time I’d been on that bridge going home in ages. Nice to see forum and #fridaycoffeeclub folk out on the roads.

Ok I think I saw:
Dana going up Ohio Drive? around 5:30pm
Dasgeh westbound crossing Lynn St? around 5:55pm (I’ve never met you but I thought I recognized something on your bike.)
Dickie eastbound crossing the Custis bridge over Spout Run around 6:00pmBTW, that was me on Tuesday! Thanks for pointing it vvill. Definitely say hi next time. I could have used a smile on the commute-when-no-one-wanted-to-call-passes.
This reminds me that maybe I should explain my handle — I posted my first internet comment back in 1998, when I was living in Berlin. If you can remember back to those dark ages, before the internet was everywhere, it wasn’t clear what blogs and forums and comments were and how to post stuff. I was hanging out with my flatmate (German), and asked him how someone would go about posting a comment. He explained about picking a handle – his was “The B” (or in German Das Beh) and since lots of people call me “G”, I choose “The G” or “Das Geh”.
Anyway, way more than anyone wanted to know. My name is Gillian, and you’re welcome to just shout out “Pregnant biker chick” or similar.

ParticipantWill’s next sighting will need to go up a notch on the alphabet. You are to find three riders with handles that begin with E.
Happy hunting!

ParticipantOneEighth was hanging out waiting for the light cycle at the Lynn St crossing of doom yesterday evening as I headed in the other direction. Then this morning, DismalScientist was in the same general area heading east on the GWPWY overpass. We all managed to recognize the other for appropriate greetings.
