Arlingtonrider and Wheels and Wings on the FMR between Eads and Mt Vernon. Apparently trying to get their rides before the detour kicks in.

Both yesterday & last week flied by Dread in the eve. Last week on the bridge over the GWMP by TR Island, including a fingertip side-five (not really “low,” or “high”). Then yesterday on the TR bridge. He was in the middle of a 3-commuter clump, so only spotted him at the last second.

Lost Dog Rescue Adoption Event

Another Rod Smith sighting today, this time at 19th and G. I was feeling envious and wishing I could switch jobs for the the rest of the afternoon.

I happened to come across Consularrider twice today, the first being at Hump Day Coffee Club where he was talking about the century ride planned for the day, and the second being entirely by chance as I was riding to Alexandria from work running into the group on their return trip from Purcellville! The pics from my camera tell the story.

Riding on the W&OD, I thought I spotted a few people I recognized, but I wasn’t quite sure; better follow them closely for a bit (not stalking, I was already heading in that direction)

Realizing it was the group from this morning, I called out Chris’s name; it got everyone’s attention before I was recognized

I rode with the group to the end of the W&OD where I got to join the group photo; at the time, my mileage for the day was 10.15, so I claimed the decimal was off to fit in with the century ride group

I chatted a bit with the Chris’s before we parted ways with me heading onto 4MR as they went to Shirlington

The family and I were passed by a nice group of forum all stars this morning. Even got in a high-five. Happy Thursday (and early voting day, for us) everyone!

It’s a quick detour from the Custis Trail – take the spurt on to Veitch (just east of the undulations), then take Veitch, you vote in the building that Veitch dead-ends into. Quick and easy. Open today until 7:00p, tomorrow 8a-5p and Saturday 8:30a-5p. There are other locations on Saturday too. After that, you’re stuck with your normal polling place on election day).
