Nah I don’t think so. You came a lot closer to slipping by unrecognized but not because your suit was the same color as the sidewalk.

ParticipantWas chugging home on the Custis on the Spout Run bridge and got a “passing” from behind. I gave my little thank-you hand motion and then he came flying by with another cyclist desperately attempting to draft. A few seconds later I got a lightbulb and took chase. Got close enough on the switchback to clarify. Managed to wheeze out a “Vince” between gasps. I think I got an acknowledging nod before dcv rapidly became a speck in the distance.
He blew by so fast he flatted my front tire, which I noticed a couple miles later.

Sorry I didn’t recognize you, I thought I heard something but didn’t make it out. Hope I was being a PAL.

Yes, you called your pass. Were you trying to shake the wheel sucker, or were you fine with him taking the pull? He gave up after the switchback. I blew by him in a final sprint along the straightaway, got within maybe 20 yards , but there’s no catching dcv. The flyby is interesting to watch.
Wasn’t wearing my usual neon yellow, but my bike & ankles have about 4-5 of the green bands. I’m sure it was all just a blur, though.February 26, 2016 at 4:30 pm #1048484consularrider

Participantspotted @bentbike33 cruising down Route 7 as I got the light to cross. Confirmed by Strava Flyby. Strong constitution to deal with that on a daily basis!

I dunno, maybe someone else? I only sleaze-rode the Route 7 sidewalks to WFC metro this morning, and Strava shows me having zero Flybys. Were you at Idylwood Road?
Or are you in some kind of Strava Stealth Mode?

ParticipantSpotted Trey yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm, headed westbound on the Custis Trail, just above the Rt 29 bridge and switch backs (aka Custis Corkscrew), as I flew by eastbound. I shouted out after we passed, but probably too late for him to register. Or maybe he was focussed on getting a piece of pie?
