ParticipantSaw the venerable Rod Smith while walking my bike up a hill with a dropped chain (needed the break, anyway). Thanks for asking if I needed help!

ParticipantOops, I didn’t quite recognize you but I did think “Hey was that Ron Wolf?” after passing.

ParticipantCame within about 5 seconds of seeing Pete, Lyds, and co. riding back from coffee this morning while heading out to Leesburg with dailyrandonneur and coffeeneur. SO CLOSE!!!
Did pass Rod inbound on the WOD out near Herndon, though!

ParticipantSorry I didn’t recognize you Bilsko. t don’t have prosopagnosia but my facial recognition skills are below average. :p Plus I ride so damn fast, everything’s a blur! Haha. I did spot Steve Eunpu who was drafting a scout troop in Leesburg (they were on foot, he was waiting for an opportunity to safely pass). Also spotted James Hoofnagle and wife somewhere around Vienna.

I know, right? Normally I’m only waving at cyclists with one finger when I drive…cuz it’s my sidewalk, too.

ParticipantShout out from FFG near WOD & Custis as I neared home on my commute. Missed the high five cuz I was signalling with the other arm.

ParticipantDang it. You beat me to it. I was going to recount our encounter along the lines of…..
Y’all know I live in N Arlington, the institutional home of asswads driving expensive white vehicles. So this morning, i’m just barely leaving the hood, and I look up and there is this expensive white petroleum consumer baring directly down on me. “OYE – GET OFF THE DAMN ROAD YOU CYCLISTS!!!!” The red faced alpha dogs screeched.
“Ya Ya…. morning Powerful Pete!”

Seems like a couple of others, too, but the heat has probably erased my memory of them.

ParticipantMy printer/fax/scanner died in a recent storm, and I went to buy another one on Craigslist. I showed up this morning to pick it up, and the seller turned out to be PeterDIY. He recognized me because a) my e-mail address starts with my forum name, and b) I showed up to pick up the printer with a bike rack on the back of my minivan.
The bad news is, I decided against bicycling from Bethesda to Alexandria and back to pick up the printer.

ParticipantComing up the MVT connector, at the IoD I came upon what appeared to be an FCCII caravan this morning. Most turned onto Key Bridge and I fell in behind. Good morning all.
