He’s talking about the run through Georgetown and Washington Circle. It was actually pretty mellow today.
That intersection is so much worse with the lights. I never saw the need for eight cops when there were only two lights.
I do like the new Cyclist Refuge Triangle, though.

ParticipantI pretty much go through the Circle only at lunchtime if I make a run to Trader Joe’s. I have ambivalent feelings about the lights there. At lunch I can usually Idaho stop them and make it through the Circle, perhaps with less traffic around me than before they made whatever changes they made.
Part of me thinks that lights at a traffic circle kind of defeat the purpose, but that’s another thread, I suppose.

Speaking of which, gotta go.

I stay out of that — too many cars drive through it.

ParticipantPassed Steve O on the W&OD tonight. Almost didn’t recognize him because he was, gasp, walking!

Someone else gave me a yell, also–just a couple minutes before KC. I think it was GB, but not sure. BTW – that lovely young lady I was walking with is my daughter, who I was accompanying home from the Metro.

ParticipantRode with Dirt for a couple miles along the Custis and W&OD this eve. Impressively, he was lugging a large bike box out to KC.

There is light, by the way.

ParticipantI rode with creadlinger today on the Mighty Hills of Anacostia Ride but I didn’t know it until I got home and uploaded my ride to Strava.
Also on the ride my good friend Raymo853 whom I’ve never met in real life before today, and Eric Williams who is going to join this forum soon. Eric was the outstanding climber on this ride, Ray wasn’t too far behind, Chris and I were getting to the top of the hills behind them but ahead of the rest. I was proud that the All-Stars were at the front. Then I checked to see how these riders did in the National Bike Challenge and good lord, it looks like Chris and Ray didn’t join our team this year! No wonder we didn’t win! Come on guys, don’t let this happen again. Eric joined our NBC team but he joined after the challenge period ended. Best Hills Ride ever! 10 riders, no stragglers, very little waiting at the hilltops for regrouping. Great to meet and ride with a couple of the forum members for the first time!

ParticipantMet dasgeh on the Lyon Village switchback on the evening commute and rode with her and her friend, Hans, (not our beloved Hozn) for a bit. She inexplicably had her bakfiets–no kids, no cargo, no groceries. She was moving right along, though.

It was an awesome commute — the one where you run into and get to chat up a bunch of your friends, and no one makes fun of you for being on the wrong bike (I had started working on my normal bike Monday night, and forgot to finish. I had to leave for a meeting Tuesday morning and the bakfiets was right there, with nothing to do for the day, so I took it. Ah, the looks you get riding through the city on a bakfiets…)

ParticipantFlew by the Turkey Man (Fast Friendly Guy with a turkey on his helmet) on my way to Black Friday CC.
Sat with and chatted with millions of other cyclists at BFCC.November 28, 2014 at 11:05 pm #1015962Harry Meatmotor
ParticipantPretty sure I saw Dirt headed NB on the MVT at around 9:45am, right near the fencing on the north side of Reagan Nat’l – I waved! (tho i prolly looked a bit nonplussed after having spent a couple hours fighting the wind at HP…)
