ParticipantStuck an arm out and waved to DismalScientist in front of the White House this AM, but he was too focused looking straight ahead.
Meanwhile, leaving Friday Coffee Club (I):

ParticipantMissed that completely. Perhaps you shouldn’t sell my bike assembly services for a 6 pack. Clearly a 40 would suffice.

ParticipantSaw Kel-now-I’m-a-bike-ambassador-too!-onWheels on the way up Penn Ave last night. Sorry I lost you at 15th — I assumed you knew the necessity of the sprint to catch the light there. I considered waiting, but realized you were probably headed south, and I was late for swim class. Good to see you though. Thanks for giving us a good name!

And then I dragged The Kid around Montgomery County on Sunday morning. Fun with the whole family!
I guess your wife saw the Tri360 ride?

ParticipantI think KayakCyndi passed me while I was walking my dog last night on the Custis. Must’ve been around Harrison or so. The Viaje’s rear triangle is impossible to miss.

GB – you might want to tighten your chin strap.
Possible responses:
I always yell when I crash so this is actually just right.
The strap is right, the helmet’s just 4 inches too far forward.
Oops, I put it on backwards this morning. (How do ppl do that?)I think it looks worse than it is, but maybe it’s slipped a little long over the summer. I’ll see about tightening it this evening.

Well, at least you have it buckled!
I love it when people ride with the straps unbuckled as if they are only concerned with falling rocks. It’s also unfathomably stupid that this was (is?) the trendy aesthetic with skateboarders.
(But, yeah, that does look pretty loose. If you can lift the helmet it off your head or lift the strap over your chin, it’s too loose.)

ParticipantSay what you will about Tejay, but the man is a master of the chin strap:

One of the downsides of the “Pictures and Videos” section of the Forum is you get a bunch of jerks criticizing all your gear (. . .and your riding style and your clothes and your safety practices and your tire inflation and your photography skills . . . .)

Guess it’s a good thing I choked off my comment that the pic posted by TwoWheels makes me want to spend the day doing push-ups and pull-ups…
