ParticipantFrom the description of it, ConsularRider ran into the CTO of the FCC on FMR yesterday and muttered something like “Rule 5!”

ParticipantI was checking out the river from a safe distance. Nasty current by the bridge—complete with whirlpools. Definitely one of those days where it is better to get your exercise by extending the bike ride.

Since you mention it….Saw Dirt, too, (no Girl) riding east on Brandymore Castle. Also saw OneEighth coming from Gravely Point towards 14th St Br–we passed in a flash; just had time for a wave!
We missed each other by seconds. TWICE.

ParticipantConsularrider walking (?!) in full bike regalia….with no bike. You better believe I called him out on it, but he just fed me some bogus story about dropping off his bike at the shop. But I think the only logical explanation is that he had bike shorts and jersey grafted over his skin like a spandex exoskeleton.
Also, pretty sure I rode past RPeretti right by the Van Buren St entrance to EFC park.

Same thing happened to me. Saw this guy in bike gear wandering down the path – I’m thinking – I didn’t see his bike back there…HOW BROKEN IS IT? Then I realized it was CR when I passed, so I doubled back and got the story. If I was Dirt I would have made him hop on my handlebars. But alas, I am most certainly not.

Which leads me to wonder, are there any local bike shops that offer “loaner” bikes while yours is in the shop?

Yes, subject to availability.
It’s gonna be a beater, usually. Laurie recycles bikes that get left behind as loaners first, then gives them to Gapbuster kids shop. Jeff

ParticipantSaw Kid Cannon by the Monolith. I guess it wasn’t very nice of me to give him a shout just as he was entering Doom.
