ParticipantSo glad to hear from you Dickie. Was wondering what was going on bc I haven’t seen you. Hopefully, I’ll be back out tomorrow and if I’m lucky I’ll spot you.

First days back in the saddle in a month and I spot eminva last night, possibly dkel on the Custis and Dread this morning… nice to see friendly faces after a tough month. Oh… sorry, pretty sure I caused the snow!

Not I, sir: I only get out on the Custis on weekends; my commute is reverse, and all W&OD.
Actually I meant the WOD, I think we split the light pole just before you reached Brandymore Castle….you heading west, I was heading east… about 6:40?

6:40!! Gads, I almost never get out that early! I also start my westbound run from Falls Church city, so I either get on at Railroad Ave (for the short route) or at Little Falls (for an extra 2 mi).
Sorry it wasn’t me, though: I like seeing people on the trail, and hardly ever get to! One of these days I’ll be out early enough to ride west with Rolo or Hozn or Phatboing, but given my typical late start time, I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

This word “early”… this is the first time I’m seeing it used next to my name.
I did, however, get sucked into daily (ugh) 9am meetings until the end of April (ugh ugh), but after that, when I’m back to my regular operating hours, I’m sure we’ll run into each other without you having to change a thing.

I was specifically holding off on a chain and cassette replacement until after this snow just in case I ended up riding through salty slushy yuckiness. All that is to say that if the forecast for the end of the week and the weekend goes from 60s to cold and snowy, it’ll probably be my fault.
When would you like to have a few days of fabulously perfect cycling weather? Because I need to take my bike in to be tuned, which should bring about perfect conditions while it’s in the shop. Let me know

Speaking of…this evening I got to call out “HOZN!” to the man himself as we passed going opposite directions on the W&OD. Sorry I didn’t get to identify myself; those passes happen awfully fast.

Ah, that was you! Yes, I was late to pick up my son, or I would have stopped. Nice to see you

I was on short time to get home and get the car (
) to pick up my kids. Obviously, it’s easier to visit if you’re headed in the same direction as the person you spot on the trail!

ParticipantApologies to Consularrider for the subpar greeting…I was right in the middle of catching breath and no words came out when I opened my mouth.

ParticipantI always thought it was pronounced like Hans…
I was sighted by Shawn Dread downtown. Sharp dressed man. Might not have recognized in his civvies if he hadn’t shouted out.

Lederhosen for the win! You have a new name, hozn.
